22.01.2022 The Milparinka mural project was called " Brush with Heritage". Funded by a Country Arts Support Grant, the project aimed to deliver a community art piece that... depicted the history of the community and region. Acclaimed artist Jodi Daley has used her own deep connection with the area to portray the heritage with a series of connected images. Located on two sides of Milparinka's "farm sheds" it is highly visible and a wonderful addition to the town's many attractions. The mural needed to be protected from the harsh sun and weather of the Corner Country. A recycled bull-nose verandah from Broken Hill was the answer, with installation by Adrian, Craig and Stubby assisted also by Top Wire Travellers Peta and Andrew. Thank you all...community spirit at its best.

20.01.2022 Air cooler one day and a fire the next!

16.01.2022 Craig, myself and all our family, thank each and everyone of you for all the support you have shown us over the past few days, it means so much to us all. A huge thank you to all the people who arrived at the fire and worked through out the night and well into the morning fighting to save the hotel. For this we will be forever great full. The determination of you all to bring the blaze under control has given us the opportunity to bring this grand old building back to life..., with the sandstone structure still standing tall and strong as the builders all those years ago could have hoped it would. Our thoughts are with Watty, Johnny A and Lockie as they recover from their injuries. Wishing you all a speedy recovery and hope to see you all back in Tibooburra very soon. Thank you to Viv and all the volunteers who helped her on site and at the hospital attending the people injured. Also the RFDS for transporting the patients to Broken Hill and Adelaide. We have received so many phone calls, text messages, messages on messenger from here in Australia and all over the world. It amazing how this little town and the hotel has made such an impact on so many peoples lives. I have no hope in getting back to you all personality, so a huge thank you for your support. See more

07.01.2022 Milparinka. Once a "ghost town". No longer. The developments in the town over the past few years have been transformational. Today a mural created by artist J...odi Daley was added to the attractions. With the adjoining panel it depicts the history of the district for all to see at a glance. Drive past, drive through, don't stop to visit the Heritage Precinct or the Milparinka Hotel and you will miss it all. Supporting the mural project have been local residents Adrian, Craig and Stubby who have built a shelter to protect the art work from the weather and to install it. Our deep gratitude for their help with this and other projects.
