Stallions are welcome as long as you have a handle on them and won’t disrupt the class with unruly and dangerous behavior. Ground Control is the basis of all horse training, whether halter breaking a foal, starting a young horse under saddle, re-educating an older horse or training a liberty horse. Having a thorough understanding of ground control is also an essential basis for problem solving in horses. Give your horse a relaxed softness in halter, lateral flexion, side passing and introduce cues. Double Dan Horsemanship introduces revolutionary horse training clinics that change relationships between horses and handlers. From the ground you will learn the foundation techniques of all Double Dan Horsemanship’s’ remarkable liberty acts. Body Control under Saddle This clinic is suited to horses that are going under saddle. Dan Steers takes you a step further in Body Control Basics under Saddle explaining the Double Dan Horsemanship techniques to develop a flexible soft horse for a safe and rewarding partnership. Building on the lessons from Ground Control Explained, Steers takes you through the nine Double Dan exercises to gain control of the 5 main body parts, the head, neck shoulders, ribcage and hind quarters. Whether working with a young horse, refining an older horse or improving a riders understanding and control, Body Control Basics Under Saddle takes you through the fundamentals to achieve flexibility and softness. Beautiful circles, lead departures and changes, roll backs and more are dependent on body control and by following the Double Dan Horsemanship techniques you will become a better rider and develop a more supple horse with a willing attitude. If there are particular problems you would like to address in the clinic make Dan & Pia aware of them at the commencement of the day and they will be sure to go through them with you.
