21.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: Neville Smith Forest Products and Ta Ann Southwood Mills under fire attack now! NSFP CEO Andrew Walker has just informed me that all NSFP & Ta A...nn fire fighters have been called out of operations due to high risk. TFS are currently on site applying foam retardant to both Mills and the western side of the Southwood site. "Our team members, TFS & STT fire crews, together, have fought bravely to save the forestry processing facilities at Southwood , and protect many dozens of long term jobs in the Huon community. In the interests of safety we have now fully evacuated our employees from the Southwood site Andrew Walker (CEO - NSFP Group) 6pm, Sunday 27th Jan" Things are not looking good down there and the next few hours are going to be touch and go. Wild ember attacks are currently pouring down on the site. Andrew has done an interview with ABC News about 2hrs ago, not sure if they will have time to edit and produce it for air, but tune into ABC at 7pm. Many thanks to Andrew for the keeping us updated.

19.01.2022 http:// Under threat // VAFI Chief Executive Officer, Tim Johnston, has expressed disappointment in draft proposals by the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council... (VEAC) to create an extensive suite of new national parks in Victorias west. Mr Johnston said that the draft proposals to create new national parks in the Wombat, Wellsford and Pyrenees Ranges State forests would have negative impacts on local businesses and communities. These proposals will severely impact the local harvesters and processors that rely on the high quality timber sourced from these forests, said Mr Johnston. 18.01.2022 TCA continues to support the workers of Heyfield and their families and thousands of others - whose whole personal futures depend on a grown up and sensible res...olution of the timber supply issue . At its heart is a sensible balance of all priorities under the 'triple bottom line'. This means a healthy environment; alongside timber harvest and regeneration activities in authorised areas; alongside healthy communities with residents able to have pride in working for their living in a truly renewable timber industry which provides materials for carbon friendly products used by us all. This is not rocket science! We have to do better than this for our Australian people. See more

12.01.2022 21 Years of Support from Weinig Australia! November 2016 marks 21 years of fantastic support for Timber Training Creswick from Michael Weinig Australia. Since November 1995 Michael Weinig Australia has supported TTC with subsidised equipment for our apprentices to learn with, and help in developing learning and assessment programs.... This support was acknowledged by TTC on November 24 when Michael Weinig Australia representative Craig Stevens was presented with a timber moulder head made by apprentices Jesse, Luke, Joshua, Brock, Bert and Daryl, who completed their class learning on November 18. The presenation took place at the TTC annual trainer/ assessor day where Craig showed the trainers some of the latest equipment available from the Weinig Group.
