23.01.2022 Coming soon "Archer and Ella's Egg Business" - - - - - - - While letterboxing and talking to residents in Watson over the weekend, I came across this "Archer and Ella's Egg Business" We can't wait for them to open in Watson! Much closer than the great eggs we get from Majura Valley Free Range Eggs on old Majura Road : ) ... #DemandBetterHappyEggs Vote 1 - Canberra Progressives

13.01.2022 Apparently, Canberrans love the new e-scooters! - - - - - - - Super early this morning I had a chat with the Neuron E-Scooter team. They are tasked with mainta...ining and replacing (daily) all the batteries from the bright orange e-scooters, you have probably seen around town. They said over the weekend we (Canberra) knocked Brisbane off the top spot for the most hired scooter hours Australia wide. Yay us! I asked if this was expected and they both said definitely not. Have you hired one yet? I know Peta Swarbrick-Bryant Canberra Progressives for Kurrajong is a big fan, rumour has it Peta scooted to the Gungahlin Candidate forum from Narrabundah on one : )

"Last weekend was a 2m eastern brown snake, this weekend was a 2m+ python," she said. Thankfully this happened in Brisbane. Christina Howes via ABC Brisbane

05.01.2022 There’s hope for political journalism in Canberra (even if our Chief Minister begs to differ) - - - - - - - - - - During our campaign, we have been lucky to have Nicola Ceccato University of Canberra journalism student (@UCPressClub) come and spend some time with us. Nicola is writing a piece for her Uni course, her lecturer Greg Jericho (@GrogsGamut columnist politics for the Guardian) sent her out with a challenging task to get to know some minor parties and to see what an...d how they work. During our campaigning with Nicola, we bumped into Peter Martin (@1petermartin Economy Editor at The Conversation), who is a good friend of Greg Jericho. With quality journalists like this teaching and floating around Canberra, the future might not be as bad as everyone predicts for journalists. I did ask Nicola what she had done to make Andrew Barr (@ABarrMLA) ‘HATE HER’ for wanting to be a journalist and she assures me nothing. https://www.canberratimes.com.au//i-hate-journalists-and-/ We are looking forward to reading Nicola final pieces when it comes out after the election. - - - Peta Swarbrick-Bryant Canberra Progressives for Kurrajong Therese Faulkner - Canberra Progressives for Kurrajong

03.01.2022 Here’s the latest count with 75% of vote counted. Just over 5% for our Kurrajong team which is great! Thanks again to all those that helped and of course those voted for us : )

01.01.2022 Good outcome for Canberrans... - - - - - - - CANBERRA TIMES: It's a place the first ACT chief minister called "the bear pit", where policies aimed at women were... met with resistance. But when five new female members of the Legislative Assembly take their places in November, they will find themselves surrounded by more women than men. While the 10th Assembly won't be the first time women have outnumbered men as ACT representatives, the 14 women who take up the role as an MLA will do so at a time when Australia is fighting its way out of a recession that has had an outsized effect on women. Earning a seat at the table are the Greens' Rebecca Vassarotti, Jo Clay and Emma Davidson, who will join Labor's Marisa Paterson and Liberal Leanne Castley in steering Canberra's COVID-19 recovery. For Dr Paterson, a former director at the Australian National University Centre for Gambling Research now representing Murrumbidgee, that means better support for women in the workplace. She said entering the Legislative Assembly as part of the biggest female majority felt significant in many respects. "I think the fact that it's a female-led Assembly will shift the lens in terms of how issues and policies are viewed," Dr Paterson said. For Ms Davidson, a former Women's Electoral Lobby head also representing Murrumbidgee, any gender-based reform would need to recognise Canberra's intersectionality. "We're going to have to work really hard to make sure we're bringing along the entire Assembly with us," she said. "Sure 51 per cent of the population are women, but within that you've got a whole lot of people from different backgrounds." In 2020, the Greens' election promise to "disrupt the current patriarchal system" seems within reach. FULL STORY... https://www.canberratimes.com.au//greens-promise-to-disr/
