25.01.2022 WE have just finished an interesting time capsule for Mindarie Senior College. It is intended to go on display and will be in a horizontal position on a cradle, because it will be on a shelf the weight and stability are important. 310mm in diameter and 800mm long so it should provide plenty of storage volume, the cradle will fit inside the capsule for freight purposes, in display position the cradle is quite low and a neat fit around the body of the capsule so stability will be good. The whole thing has an attractive appearance and with a plaque mounted standing a bit off the curve of the cylinder it will look great.

24.01.2022 Sent a huge capsule, 325mm diameter x 1000mm long, to Essendon Football Club yesterday. It is to be sealed and buried for 50 years. The capsule is fitted with argon charging fittings to allow the capsule to be filled with argon gas and provide a completely inert atmosphere, completely desirable for the long term preservation of the contents. The top is also fitted with jacking screws so that the lid can be removed quite easily and safely by simply loosening three lock nuts and then screwing the 8mm bolts inwards which will force the top off its seal.

24.01.2022 Have just sent off a great looking capsule, going to the ADF in Adelaide, it is going to be on display.

24.01.2022 This rectangular capsule went to the Paediatric Society of Hong Kong recently, to be on display the plaque standing out from the wall of the capsule makes an interesting effect.

23.01.2022 Well! Been a while since I have made an entry here, have been flat out for months, which has been good. I can see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel now. We have a capsule which was made for a customer, he changed his mind regarding size, halfway through the job and we made a bigger one for him. We have since completed the original capsule and it is now in stock and ready to send. It is a great little capsule, the dimensions are 200mm high, 200wide and 300 long and weigh...s approx 12 kg's, has a volume of 12L. All 3mm plate with 4mm top and flange lip, has been pressure tested. We have called it "the money box" for,I think, obvious reasons! If by some chance you have a need for such a box, or a great time capsule, or a very attractive archive box, this one could be yours! The price being $475 which includes gst and delivery to most towns and cities within Australia. Cheers Steve. See more

23.01.2022 Shown here is a very serious capsule, suitable for long term preservation of its contents, 50 plus years easily! The dimensions are diameter 324mm x 600mm high, has a volume of approx 51 litres and weighs 30 kgs approx. Has fittings to allow the capsule to be charged with argon gas and is complete with top seal bolts and dome nuts. Has been tested and is now in stock ready to go. The price being $865 plus freight to you.

22.01.2022 Have just completed an interesting capsule for The University of Technology Sydney. It is to be set in a concrete pathway, so must have a flush top (nothing protruding). The top seal bolts are countersunk, the argon fittings are below the top surface and accessible by socket. Because when the capsule is set in place the seal joint will not be accessible to pry the top off, I have fitted the top with jacking screws, these will allow the top to be easily lifted off vertically. The seal gasket used on this capsule is a new type which has superior long term lasting qualities than material previously available, we will be using this gasket material on all capsules from now on. It has been an interesting job and turned out very well. I will try and get a photo of the finished and in place product.

19.01.2022 Just completed a stock capsule, measures 264.5mm inside and is 500mm high, has a volume of a bit over 27 litres, and weighs 22kgs. The capsule has 18 top bolts with dome nuts spaced at 55mm between centres, the width of the sealing surface is 50 mm, this together with the close top bolt spacings gives the capsule incredible long term sealing capabilities in all conditions. It is fitted with fittings to easily allow charging the capsule with argon gas, the presence of this gas... will prevent the growth of mould or bacteria, argon gas will not react with anything. This capsule has been pressure tested at many times greater pressures than it could ever meet during use. With the seal replacement following unearthing there is no reason at all that this capsule cannot be used over and over again. It is the most economical size (cost per litre volume) which we make, and for numerous reasons, the best. Cost $630, this being a total incl gst and freight to most Australian cities. Please contact me for freight quote to foreign country. Cheers Steve. See more

18.01.2022 Have recently made a large capsule for Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong. It is 380mm x 380mm x 600mm high and weighs about 40 kg's. It will take a bit of filling, has a volume of 86 litres

17.01.2022 Well, a bit of excitement around here, our new website www.timecapsulesaustralia.com

16.01.2022 Picture shows a great little capsule, " the Stumpy" is 150mm in diameter and 350mm high weight is 5 kgs and has a volume of a bit over 6 litres. Quite an attractive capsule. Tested and ready for sale. $255 which includes gst. Great economical capsule may suit smaller schools, this capsule will last for ever, may be used over and over again. It also would be very suitable for someone who just happens to have some money, or maybe something else, that he or she needs to place in a container that is completely air and water tight, and put in a "safe place". The Stumpy will out last a million biscuit tins and may save the owner quite a bit of concern and worry over the well being of whatever the contents of the capsule may be!

16.01.2022 This shot shows a set of five capsules 270mm diameter x 355mm high, sent off to the University of Western Sydney a few weeks ago.

16.01.2022 Flush to again, center handle screws into top when needed, jacking screws shown here

15.01.2022 Just finished an order of 3 box capsules their size being 300mm wide x 200mm high x 600mm long, this gives a volume of 36 litres each and capsule weighs around 20 kgs. They will be on their way to Radford College in the ACT.

15.01.2022 It is, from now on, my intention to carry a standard range of capsule sizes, these being 220mm diameter x 500mm long, 270mm diameter x 500mm long, and 325mm diameter x 500mm long. All will be fitted with argon gas injection fittings and will be complete including a neopreme gasket, a quantity of the correct gasket grease, a set of top bolts and dome nuts, a list of helpful hints which will assist in the sealing and argon gas charging. This will allow us to produce capsule com...ponents in lots and maintain economical prices. Custom and one off capsules may still be made and priced accordingly. Prices for standard range are; 220 x 500 (incl gst) $430 + freight. 270 x 500 (incl gst) $580 + freight. 320 x 500 (incl gst) $760 + freight.

13.01.2022 Sent off a really neat rectangular capsule 300mm x 400mm x 6mm for Lake Gwelup Primary in Western Australia. I think it is intended to be displayed. Also another cylindrical capsule 270mm x 500mm for Lauriston Girls school in Victoria. A 220mm x 500mm capsule for Miami State School on the Gold Coast going today.

11.01.2022 Re "money box" capsule below, sorry it has been sold today. If you would like on made, drop us an email at [email protected] Cheers Steve.

11.01.2022 The photo below shows only the 220mm x 500mm and 270mm x 500mm capsules, will have a 325 diameter completed in the near future. Also we intend to revamp the web site, this will give a detailed description of the standard range, incl sizes other relevant information, and prices. Hope to have this done this month.

10.01.2022 Have just completed a super time capsule, 310mm wide x 600mm high. Fitted with 1/4 in BSP fittings to allow charging with argon gas. The argon charging replaces the air in the capsule with argon leaving a relatively dry and completely inert atmosphere, perfect for the long term preservation of the capsule contents. Argon is much heavier than air so as the capsule fills air and some moisture are expelled ahead of the argon, it is commonly used in industry, so reasonably easy to obtain. The process may be carried out by qualified people such as refrigeration fitters, mechanical fitters or boiler makers. This capsule is big, heavy and with the argon fittings is perfectly suited for long term use. It will soon be on its way to Woy Woy Public School.

10.01.2022 Have another shot of the Essendon Football Club capsule in the process of being tested. This is done by putting pressure into the water filled capsule. Any leaks are quickly evident by eye and also the subsequent drop in pressure noted on the gauge which is fitted to the top for this purpose. This is a very safe, simple and effective test. All capsules are tested accordingly, prior to dispatch.

09.01.2022 Another capsule 220 x 500 with polished plaque plate, will be delivered To Seton College in Brisbane tomorrow.

09.01.2022 Photo of flush top capsule for University of Technology Sydney

09.01.2022 Just completed a couple of interesting rectangular capsules, soon be on their way to Wingecarribee Shire Council. Their measurements being 500mm high 400mm across and 150mm depth with the opening on the end, that is, the opening being 150mm x 400. The reason being, the actual sealing surface is kept to a minimum and the strength of the capsule is not comprised by a large bolted section (top), giving the best possible chance of success.

09.01.2022 Well, it has taken a while however all is now well, my email is now reconnected and running. The address [email protected] , remains the same.

06.01.2022 This cylinder just finished and will soon on its way to Camden Hospital. Bradley, you will find inside a small container of the correct grease for the gasket, some basic instructions, the original invoice and a polished plaque plate drilled for mounting screws. This capsule is fitted with sockets and plugs to allow charging with argon gas, the instructions will include some tips on this procedure. The capsule being 260mm diameter and 500mm high. The capsule will be sent via TNT and I will email you advising you accordingly, and the con note number.Steve.

06.01.2022 Box shaped capsule, going to Zeehan Primary school in Tasmania. Measures 200mm high x 300mm wide x 450mm long, looks pretty neat!

04.01.2022 This is an interesting little capsule, 350 mm x 260 mm x 240 high, and to the best of my knowledge, is going to be set into the entrance gates of a residence in Coldstream area.

04.01.2022 The "Middy", great little capsule, 170mm x 370mm high. Weighs approx 12 kg's and 8 litres in volume. Suitable for many uses, will last for ever. Complete, tested and in stock now. Price is $310 plus delivery to you.

02.01.2022 Another in stock capsule, "the 35", 150mm diameter x 500mm high, 35.4L in capacity and weighs approx. 15kg's. Complete with neopreme seal, top bolts and dome nuts, container of compatible seal lubricant, fittings to charge capsule with argon gas ( very desirable to ensure long term preservation of contents ), list of simple instructions, pressure tested prior to delivery. This capsule is completed and ready to deliver! Total cost to most areas within Australia being $710, this includes freight and gst. Cheers Steve.

01.01.2022 This is the Miami State School capsule, the Lauriston Girls School capsule is the same except a bigger diameter.

01.01.2022 Well a bit of excitement around here, our new website www.timecapsulesaustralia.com is up and running! A great job well done by Web Coast in achieving this with speed and expertise. We have quite a few new photos which will appear on the new web site in the very near future. We have discovered some emails which had not been answered, if by any chance your email has been neglected please resend it via [email protected] or info on www.timecapulesaustralia.com , various reason...s for this, however, regardless, we apolagise. The move and including the disruption to internet access, and in particular emails, is well and truly completed, with everything including the internet, workshop, new transport arrangements and access to consumable and material supplies now being complete and running smoothly.
