24.01.2022 Do you live or work in the City of Parramatta, Cumberland City Council, Fairfield City Council, Bankstown, Liverpool City Council Australia or Campbelltown City... Council, NSW? Due to increased community transmission of COVID-19, NSW Health urges people in these hotspot areas to get tested for COVID-19 if they have any very minor symptoms such as a sore throat or runny nose. Some symptoms include fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath and loss of taste or smell. Self-isolate until you get your test results. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, stay in, get tested and isolate. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - Wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance. NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant urged people to be vigilant. "The areas I am particularly urging the community to come forward is in south-western Sydney and western Sydney, the local government areas of Cumberland, Parramatta, Fairfield, Bankstown, Liverpool and Campbelltown," she said. "I would urge the community with the most mild of symptoms to come forward for testing. "We are very concerned about the unlinked cases. We are concerned there may be chains of transmission we are yet to detect."
