25.01.2022 I call on the Andrews Labor government to let this Sydney couple out of Victorian hotel quarantine immediately. They’re fellow Australians, it’s wrong and makes no sense. They must be allowed to board a flight back to Sydney now.
25.01.2022 It’s irrefutable that the Andrews Labor government caused Victoria’s 2nd wave through failures in hotel quarantine. 99 per cent of COVID-19 cases in the second wave have been genomically traced to overseas travellers whilst they were in hotel quarantine at 2 hotels in Melbourne. Can Labor and their supporters please stop trying to cover up this disaster?

20.01.2022 Given the hell from which Victoria is only just emerging, it beggars belief that the Premier would want to restart a system that put the state into deadly peril before we properly know what went wrong in the first place, especially when the inquiry that’s supposed to tell us seems almost wilfully determined not to find out. We know that at least 99 per cent of Victoria’s second wave originated from bungled hotel quarantine. We know that Victoria’s testing and tracing regime was completely shambolic compared to NSW, which is why a few cases exploded into a statewide catastrophe.

Andrews promised Covid normal after 28 days without a case, we have remarkably achieved that - now he must make good on that promise -particularly the working from home rule. As you can see, the working from home directions completely contradict Andrews statement that 25% of workers would return to their place of work.

11.01.2022 The Victorian people did a magnificent job throughout this crisis, only to be let down by a negligent state government. The second wave was highly avoidable, and should never have happened. 800 people needlessly died, and those responsible have not yet been held to account. But under Labor’s road map announced in September, 28 days without a case was supposed to trigger a COVID-normal life in Victoria. Under this road map from two months ago, there was going to be no restrictions on visitors to the home, no restrictions on public gatherings, no restrictions on hospitality venues, retail would be completely open, intrastate travel completely allowed and no restrictions on entertainment venues, Tom Elliott pointed out on Friday afternoon.
11.01.2022 Pleased that sanity has finally prevailed and masks are no longer mandated when outside alone, but the hospitality industry is still reeling from the announcement of a limit of 150 people in December. This is contrary to the September roadmap, which stated that when there are zero new cases in a 28 day period, there will be no limit on venue capacities. Why did the goalposts change? 10.01.2022 Daniel Andrews also recognises in his press release of 27 March that the ADF will be engaged to support the implementation of these arrangements. It’s quite extraordinary that this piece of evidence, together with his press conference of 28 March, wasn't put to the Premier at the Board of Inquiry yesterday.
10.01.2022 Mikakos has gone. Good. But the Premier and no other Minister has accepted responsibility for the decision to use private security instead of the ADF and police. Andrews has not explained why he thanked the PM for the offer of ADF support on March 28th but didn’t use them.

08.01.2022 Andrews told the Hotel Inquiry that I had absolutely no expectation whatsoever that in the establishment and the running of hotel quarantine there would be significant extensive ADF support. BUT in March he said he was grateful to the PM for his offer of support from the ADF. See the press conference below. Why wasn't this put to the Premier under cross examination at the Inquiry yesterday?
07.01.2022 It is an abysmal failure that with so few cases, the Andrews government is making a litany of basic errors. Daniel Andrews said in December: None of us has the ability to change history; we can only learn those lessons and make sure that the reforms and the changes that are essential are made to make it... far less likely that these sorts of errors could ever occur again. Make no mistake, they have. My opinion piece in today's The Australian.
06.01.2022 Business needs certainty. Back in September, the Roadmap to Covid Normal stated no restrictions on hospitality venues when Victoria achieves 28 days of no new cases. Fast forward to being 4 days away from achieving this target, and Andrews has changed the goalposts to a limit of 150 people per venue.... To recoup losses from the world's longest lockdown, hospitality venues need to be at full capacity in December - as long as no community transmission is maintained.
