23.01.2022 Due to new regulations regarding COVID-19 outbreak we can now only offer takeaway. Food and drinks cannot be consumed on the property. In our shop we ask you to respect the social distancing rule of 1.5 m / 1 person per 4 m2. If you can’t have your takeaway at home or workplace, there is a public park in Nornalup as well as in Walpole and plenty of nice beaches in the area. Please dispose of your rubbish responsibly. NB! We still have frozen pies for sale with a 10% discoun...t! Our last day for this season will be Monday, 30th of March (unless regulations change prior). We hope to reopen in November. This season is shorter than we planned, but we’ve had a great time baking and serving! We are grateful to everyone who has visited. To all our regulars we will miss you! See you again and stay safe, Hedi & Jack

22.01.2022 We hope you all had a beautiful weekend! 19.01.2022 We wanted to thank everyone who has had pies, cakes and coffees here the past 5 months! We will treasure the memories of friends catching up, families having their weekly outings, tourists and locals admiring the garden and spending hours getting their perfect shot of our resident blue wrens. All this accompanied by Jack’s baked goods and Hedi’s coffees. We look forward to seeing you all again in November. Until then stay safe!

19.01.2022 Our last day open will be tomorrow, Monday 30th of March. Then we need to take some time off and keep away from it all. Even with people slowing down, plants will still keep growing how they usually do. Flowers will bloom and fruit trees will fruit. Life will keep on going forward. Remember to look for little miracles in it and after all this has passed look at things with fresh eyes. In the time of isolation, don’t forget to be kind. We can all do it!

Which is Rest, recover, create, organise, clean, garden, read, get inspired, connect. And travel overseas, but this isn’t happening, so we just have to do more of the other things on our list. Ready to reopen our business for the sixth season on 1st of November! 07.01.2022 Tingles Bakehouse and COVID-19 In this changing world we all have a responsibility to look after each other. This means making sure our premises is safe to you and to us. These are the changes effective from today: We encourage you to take away, but have kept the outdoor seating.... We cannot accept your reusable cups and will only use our own takeaway cups. NEW OFFER! We are selling frozen pies with a 10% discount. Good way to stock up for winter! Whole cakes also available. We cannot ignore the world is dealing with a highly infectious virus and even though we’re in this isolated corner of WA (can be a plus), we mostly rely on tourism (definitely a minus). It’s only a matter of time for us until we will have to close. Meanwhile, lets eat cake, pies and drink coffee! Tingles Bakehouse Hedi & Jack

07.01.2022 This vegetable curry pie is full of flavour with it’s Indian style korma & fresh herbs from the garden. We believe a pie doesn’t need to have meat to be delicious. Vegetables can totally do the job! This one is one of our faves. Which is yours?

05.01.2022 Dear friends of Tingles Bakehouse, With great regret we will have to announce that Tingles Bakehouse will not be opening again and is PERMANENTLY CLOSED due to private matters. It has been a valuable experience for us. It has shown that when you truly put your heart into something, people will notice it. Always keep learning new things, stay true to your values and be kind to people. We gave the best product, service and surroundings we could potentially give. And how lucky ...were we to have shared it with you! We had the best customers, who also became our friends. We are very grateful for all the seasonal staff and helpers we’ve had throughout these years. Thank you Aurora, Hannah, Stacey, Karen, Jo, Elsie, Lailani and Maryen. Thank you to Jack’s parents Jane and Johnny for allowing us to fulfill our dreams and create a workplace for us. We couldn’t have done it without you. Here is the life of Tingles from the beginning in 2014 to spring 2020. Thank you for all these memories. Life won’t be the same without our special place. It made us who we are today. Jack & Hedi

01.01.2022 This is the first year we won’t have a grand end of the season celebration on Mother’s Day with lots of cake! We’re sorry we can’t offer a nice day out, but we can give a recipe of one of our cakes the delicious apple and date cake Lumberjack! So if you were still thinking of what to give your mum this Sunday, here’s an idea. Happy baking! Lumberjack Cake Base: 2 big apples... 185 g dates 1 tsp bicarb soda 1 cup boiling water 125 g butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla essence 1.5 cups self raising flour Topping: 100 g butter 0.5 cup milk 0.75 cup dark brown sugar 150 g coconut threads Peel, core and chop apples. Chop dates. Combine apple, dates and bicarb soda in a bowl, stir in water and allow to cool. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well until light and fluffy. Add flour alternating with fruit mix. Pour into 26 cm tin. Bake at 180C for 60 minutes. In a saucepan, bring topping to boil and simmer for a few minutes. Remove base from oven and pour topping over it. Bake for another 15 minutes until golden. Cool in the tin. Be sure to share with mum!

01.01.2022 To all the lucky people spending their holidays down in Walpole and Nornalup! We are closed for winter, but there are other nice food places to go check out. From our own experience we can recommend: 1. Breakfast at Banksia Cafe & Restaurant. A new place in Walpole. Loved the vegetable stack with mushroom and eggs on sourdough. 2. Lunch at Nornabar. We have had some beautiful curries and wok meals there. Lovely food made by two great Sri Lankan chefs. 3. Dinner at Walpole T...op Deck Cafe. Our all time favourite is the porterhouse steak with pepper sauce. Or a calamari salad. Yum! 4. Fish and Chips for lunch or dinner from Mal and Barbs Flaming Hot Takeaways. Always consistently generous and delicious! If there's any other recommendations you'd like to share, pop them down the comments for people who are new to the area. Thank you and have a great holiday! We'll see you again in November when we reopen.
