21.01.2022 244 kms Serpentine Bush Camp to Rainbow Valley 7th September Woke up to a bloody freezing morning, we drove to Glen Helen to have a look, excellent place to stop or stay at, they actually had water in the creek! It was a beautiful place for morning tea. ... We then drove to Alice Springs to grab a couple gifts for the family. We had lunch a little hipster spot in the middle of the mall, really good to have someone else cook a meal for ya. Had to stop on the way out of Alice for the obligatory photo! Eventually we set up camp at Rainbow Valley, watching the sunset there is absolutely beautiful, and great fun driving in slow.

17.01.2022 288kms 8th September Rainbow Valley to Kings Canyon Resort Headed out early in the morning, heading to Kings Canyon for two nights. ... On the way we stopped at Stuart’s Well Roadhouse for a Camel Pie and a stretch. While there we saw a couple Camels and even some Emus. We had planned to go along to Stuart Highway and onto the Lasseter Highway. But instead we decided to turn down Ernest Giles Road and give that a whirl. Just before we were about to turn off, one of the cars got a flat, so we pulled over and sorted it out fairly quickly. We stopped at Henbury Meteorite Conservation Reserve to have a look. The Ernest Giles Road wasn’t to bad, we just thought it’d be something different then the bitumen. Then arrived at Kings Canyon Resort and chilled out for the night.
15.01.2022 50km 11th September Ayers Rock Resort - Uluru Woke up pretty early to see the sunrise at Uluru, we also did the Mala Walk and the Kuniya Walk. ... It’s amazing how much history the rock has! We had lunch at the cultural centre and had abit of a look around. After lunch we chilled out abit before getting ready to go see the Field of Lights once the sun went down. So good not having the canopy left at camp for our home base! @ Uluru
15.01.2022 113km 12th September Ayers Rock Campground - Kata Tjuta Woke up early again to watch the sunrise on camels between Uluru and Kata Tjuta. It was 3 degrees when we were up on camels in the sand dunes, but it was beautiful! ... After our Camel ride we had damper and a cuppa. Then we headed off to Kata Tjuta to do the Valley of the Winds walk, it was long and hot! We had the best lunch at the Geckos Cafe, a good old steak burger And then later that night we had dinner at Ilkari, it was bloody beautiful! Buffet but still amazing table service @ Uluru Camel Tours

13.01.2022 25km 9th September Kings Canyon- Kings Canyon Resort Woke up bright and early to do the 6km rim walk around Kings Canyon. It was bloody freezing apart from the last 5 mins of the track.... Took us about 3 1/2 hours and we had a morning tea break at the top. I’d 100% recommend doing it! It was fantastic! The hardest part is the first lot of stairs to the top, but after that it’s pretty easy going. We spent the rest of the day napping and chilling out, there’s a few dingos around that aren’t shy. In the afternoon we had drinks at the Thirsty Dingo and went down to the sunset viewing area to watch the sunset @ Kings Canyon Resort
12.01.2022 565kms 15th September Ayres Rock Resort to Gemtree Caravan Park We got to have a bit of sleep in today because we packed up the majority of our camp the night before. After we had breakfast and finished packing up, we drove back to Uluru to take some final pictures of that amazing landmark. ... We then left and headed towards Alice Springs, we stopped at the Emu farm at Erldunda to check tyres and airbags and also to feed the emus. We popped into Stuart’s Well for lunch and to have a proper look around the old roadhouse. It’s definitely worth stopping in to have a look at all the cool stuff he has there. When we got to Alice Springs and topped up with fuel. We arrived at Gemtree at 5pm. After we setup camp we had Roast Chicken and veggies for dinner it was bloody delicious! @ Gemtree See more

11.01.2022 113km 13th September Ayers Rock resort - Kata Tjuta Finally slept in today! ... Started the day with a quick walk up Walpa Gorge in Kata Tjuta. Easy and nice walk We had lunch at the Outback Pioneer Lodge, nice and easy. We’ve had a little bunny hanging around camp lately, pretty cute. And then we went out for dinner again at Arnguli Grill and Restaurant, I didn’t think anything could beat last nights experience, but this was pretty great! I’d definitely recommend it! Sorry no pics of the car today, it was a pretty relaxed day. @ Kata Tjuta Dunes Viewing Area

08.01.2022 493 kms 5th September Avon Downs to Devils Marbles Woke up early in Avon Downs for another day of driving. ... We had no choice to stop at the Barkly to fuel up, it was a nice stop able to have morning tea on beautiful green grass. Then on our way to Tennant Creek we stopped at the Three ways for a look and a stretch, we also stopped at The Pebbles, that road was a bit of a shocker, and we also stopped at the Telegraph Station outside Tennant Creek, beautiful place, with a lot of history! We had lunch at Lake Mary Anne, it was very empty and then filled up at the United in Tennant Creek, the service there was excellent, we were able to fill up our water tanks for a nice shower that night. Then finally made our way to The Devils Marbles for the night, definitely worth the stop. It was beautiful! They also have nice bush walks you can do. Easier setting up today then it was yesterday, but bloody hot! @ Devil's Marbles Conservation Reserv
07.01.2022 304 km 10th September Kings Canyon Resort to Ayers Rock Resort Campground Finally chucked the sticker on the back of the Ute I had made up for this trip thanks @craftypaws.au ... Headed out to Kings Creek Station for a quick look, they had a cheeky bird hanging out there and a couple camels. Then we set our sites for Ayers Rock Resort, where we will spend the next 5 nights. We stopped at Mt. Conner, and climbed a sand dune to get a good look, on the other side of the sand dune was a massive salt pan you wouldn’t have even known it was there unless you climbed it. When we arrived at the campground we set up and chilled out for the night, easier setting up knowing you don’t have to take it down the next day. @ Ayers Rock Resort Campground
05.01.2022 55km 14th September Ayres Rock Resort - Uluru National Park Today we had a little sleep in, after we had breakfast we drove to Uluru for a 7:30 appointment with a push bike, we done the base ride and it was 15km from start to finish. 04.01.2022 497 kms Devils Marbles to Serpentine Bush Camp 6th September Woke up to a beautiful sunrise in Devils Marbles, wonderful place to spend the night, but very busy! ... We headed down to Alice Springs, on the way there we stopped at Aileron to have a look at there beautiful statues, they were so full of detail it was great! And they had a couple camels there, first animals we’ve really seen apart from cattle. When we arrived in Alice Springs we fuelled up and stopped in at ARB and Dessert Dwellers, can’t go past the CU in the NT shirts. After Alice we stopped at Standley Chasm to have lunch, and then went on a nice walk and seen some beautiful rock. Definitely worth the stop and walk. We were supposed to then camp at Ellery Creek but it was full, not very many camping sites.. so we headed a little further down and stopped at Serpentine Bush Camp. Bloody beautiful camp and a nice little 4WD only track, had the place to ourselves so we had a fire going and a great night.
02.01.2022 368kms Cloncurry to Avon Downs Rest Area 4th September We were lucky enough to be able to get a surface tour of the mine I work at, so the missus could see part of what I do. (I’m underground so she couldn’t see everything). Then I was surprised by my parents at the Cloncurry Bakery. ... They’ve decided to join our journey to Uluru Cloncurry bakery, has to be the best bakery in Australia, we’ve got a couple loaves for our trip and I enjoyed my curry chilli pie. We stopped at Mary Kathleen Mine, absolutely unreal! The photos definitely don’t do it any justice. I think that’d be a good stop to camp at if ever needed. Then we just headed to Avon Downs, stopping at Mount Isa for a quick shop and the lookout. And of course stopping at the border for a quick pic. @ Avon Downs
