10.01.2022 The Fair Work Commission has made changes to the Teachers and Children’s Services awards. Changes to the Children’s Services award cover: rostering non-co...ntact time for educational leaders providing hats and sunscreen several other matters. The Teachers award changes include the removal of the quarter day pay rates for casual employees. They’ve also updated the minimum payment for casuals in early childhood services. The changes apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 November 2020. 04.01.2022 If you’re required to do training as part of your job, it’s considered work time and must be paid. This includes any online training you’re expected to do outsi...de work hours. Some awards, enterprise agreements or employment contracts may specify a qualification as a requirement of employment. In that case, you may not get extra pay for completing the training outside work hours. It’s a good idea to check your award or agreement because some qualifications can come with extra allowances (like a first aid allowance) or put you at a higher pay grade.
