15.01.2022 NDIS OCCUPATION THERAPIST POSITION Melbourne- About the Role You will have responsibility for the provision of high quality occupational therapy assessment and interventions for participants who have an NDIS plan. The position provides occupational therapy interventions for participants presenting with multiple complex problems including serious mental illness, co-morbid high prevalence disorders, associated social relationship issues, physical disabilities, everyday living s...kill needs and dual diagnosis. You will be required to attend participants homes to meet with them, make recommendations on support they may require, write comprehensive reports and work within the boundaries of the NDIS. You will have flexibility with your work hours and be supported by a great team of allied health professionals and staff. Duties Provide high quality occupational therapy assessments and intervention to NDIS participants. Demonstrate a flexible approach to the resolution of complex situations that may involve negotiation with multiple service providers. Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and ability to complete work with minimal direction. Ability to write time sensitive comprehensive reports for participants Understanding of home modification assessments and reporting Qualifications, Skills and Experience Current Occupational Therapy Board of Australia registration (AHPRA) Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of OT Australia. All NDIS providers must be regulated more often to ensure people (if you can call him a person) like this NEVER have interactions with people who have a disability. It is happening too often. 04.01.2022 This last week has been a very busy and emotional week for TnCCare. The more we go out and speak to the community, the more we realise the language barriers and abuse that is happening at the hands of carers and providers. Sometimes our dedicated staff can find this extremely difficult to see and our CEO spends countless hours each night advocating for participants. It is very difficult for us to meet new participants each day and see how they have been treated by "supposed ...experts". Please know your rights! Never sign anything you don't understand and make sure that your support workers, Support Coordinator and health professionals are doing what they are charging for! If you or anyone you know needs advice on what they are entitled to please let us know.
