NSW Police are patrolling the area and enforcing border entry requirements, similar to road travel into NSW. A person found breaching the Public Health (COVID-19 Border Control) Order 2020 faces an $11,000 fine and six months in prison. You can apply for a border entry permit via Service NSW: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au//apply-covid-19-nsw-border-

03.01.2022 The NSW Health Minister has issued an exemption from the Public Health Order to allow people in remote communities to cross the border to obtain essential goo...ds & services, including food, fuel & hygiene products, from across the border. The exemption allows Barooga & Tocumwal residents, who live in the border blue zone, to travel to Cobram (only) to obtain those items, if those items are not readily obtainable in a timely manner without crossing the border. The Council is aware that residents outside the blue zone including those in Berrigan & Finley rely on Cobram for essentials as well, however this NSW Government exemption does not apply to them. The Council is constantly advocating on behalf of our community on this matter and other border closure matters Border permits may be available for people outside the blue zone for: a student, parent, staff member or visitor attending a school a person providing critical services, including: o Commonwealth defence & security services o maintenance & repair of critical infrastructure o medical, hospital, dental or veterinary care o mining, agriculture, construction, energy or manufacturing o commercial movement of freight or persons You may also eligible for a permit: for child access & care arrangements for essential medical treatment that you cant obtain locally or remotely to attend court or other legal obligations on compassionate grounds (e.g. a family member is in palliative care & close to end of life) Your permit may include restrictions such as travelling directly to & from your permitted activity & self-isolating from others while across the border when not undertaking your permitted activity. Some permits may require you to self-isolate at home or get tested for COVID-19. It is important you read your permit carefully & follow all requirements.. Any concerns or questions please contact Service NSW on 137788 or via https://www.nsw.gov.au//what-you/border-restrictions/guide

01.01.2022 Road users can enjoy faster and safer journeys on the Newell Highway near Finley, with the completion of a new 1.5 kilometre southbound overtaking lane at Fulle...rs Road by Transport for NSW The Fullers Road overtaking lane is the 10th lane delivered by the Newell Highway Program Alliance (NHPA), which is on track to build about 30 new overtaking lanes over four years, adding 45 kilometres of new overtaking opportunities along the essential transport route. These lanes will improve safety and traffic efficiency and reduce travel times as part of the NSW Governments $500 million Newell Highway upgrade. Work at Fullers Road started in February 2020, and motorists experienced delays of less than 1.5 minutes during construction.
