24.01.2022 We had the pleasure of hosting a busload of netballers from Bonnie Doon on the weekend. A great bunch of girls, who enjoyed a great couple of days exploring the area. The organiser sent me this email upon their return home (and I am happy to report that the cottages were left very neat and tidy): "Just wanted to send you a note to say thank-you for allowing us to stay at Tokemata Retreat over the weekend. All of the girls were blown away with your amazing property and how ...lovely and clean it was with immaculately groomed grounds. It was so nice to have lovely fresh green grass to walk on with bare feet... Its so dry over our way. Many of us have already decided that we would like to come back and actually stop, relax & enjoy the property instead of going out. It was also suggested to have a pre-season mini boot camp there too....aarrghhh not for me though - i'll just organise it supervise it! Ha ha! You went out of your way to ensure that we didn't have to worry about anything as you moved things around to accommodate us ensuring that everyone had a comfy bed, linen and toiletries. For me personally, you made my life so much easier. It can be challenging enough to organise a group trip with so many things to arrange and trying to keep everyone happy however you made the accommodation part a breeze (which is usually the hardest things) Once again, thankyou so much! 18.01.2022 Had a tour of the fantastic Barmah Forest Heritage and Education Centre in Nathalia today. What a great asset for our region! A lovely building with so much information about the Murray and the Barmah Forest. Also displays local artists with exhibitions changing regularly. Well worth a visit and less than an hour from Tokemata Retreat.

15.01.2022 Seven years ago this week, we arrived at Tokemata with three small kids. In that time, we have made a lot of changes to the surrounds and cottages, met some wonderful people who we now count as friends, buried a loyal and loved mate (Muttley) and gained two new four legged family members. We've celebrated some special big 0 birthdays, hosted and attended lovely weddings, seen Will and Ruby start Primary School and Harry start High School and become a teenager. So many memories we will forever treasure. Next week, we hand our "little 'peace' of country" over to a new family to make their own. We hope that they love it as much as we have. Xxx

10.01.2022 On the weekend, this poor little lady was found wandering around, hot and dehydrated. The wonderful Kylee and James from Dutch Thunder Wildlife Rescue came and took them for monitoring. They are doing well and are being released into the bush here tonight.

09.01.2022 Love is in the air! We are lucky enough to be hosting the wedding of the lovely Trent and Adelle today. The sun is shining and the helpers are busy finishing the decorations. It all looks amazing. We are also very excited to be going to see our gorgeous friend Bec marry Craig this afternoon. Our love and best wishes go to both couples and anyone else celebrating love today!
