I couldnt believe my luck when I finally got to photograph the Kimberley subspecies of the Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove! Unfortunately its not the best photo of the Dove but Im sure I can use it to create a watercolour painting.... I will post more videos soon!

22.01.2022 Some short highlights of over 5 hours of footage of the great Bower bird that I captured. This was then use for my painting references. I thought It was interesting enough to share..

20.01.2022 This is a bird that I have wanted to photograph and paint since I was 17. After many years, I decided to try my luck when I was in Margaret River last year. These tiny wrens weigh just 7.5 grams! They are very tricky to photograph as they rarely come out of the dense coastal scrub for more than a few seconds at a time, not to mention, they have a faint call that is hard to locate.

17.01.2022 Exploring, camping and reference gathering in the Kimberley during the mighty wet season. It can be challenging and ever changing environment that keeps you on your toes, but you are always sure to be rewarded with a story or two! Storms, jumping fish, fields of Kimberley wildflowers, salties, birds, mud, flies, heat, where else would you rather be?

16.01.2022 Rainbow Bee-eaters in the Boab Trees of Broome. These spectacular birds are a common around Broome, but this scene can be easily overlooked. They are a small bird that usually prefer a high vantage point which can make it hard to see there incredible colours from ground view.... Any Insects that may fly into the path of this bird doesnt stand a chance as the Rainbow Bee-eater will swiftly swoop out from its branch and catch its meal with pin point accuracy and then return to the same position.

08.01.2022 Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. An incredible place to explore! I was very excited to photograph Gouldian finches, fresh water turtles, sugar gliders and much more. I will begin a series of artworks inspired from this area soon!

08.01.2022 Wildlife is drawn to our precious water during these hot temperatures exceeding 40 degrees. I set up a small bird hide before sunrise to watch the incredible display of wildlife. Including: thousands of budgerigars, red-tail cockatoos, red winged parrots and the incredible dollarbird skimming the water for a drink.

01.01.2022 This is one of my favourite paintings along with the experience. It was an incredible sight to see Red-tailed Black Cockatoos traveling in huge flocks ahead of the fire front during a bush fire that trickled through the bush for over a month! I felt as if their red tails symbolise the buring emebers of the wild fires.
