24.01.2022 The Reserve Bank of Australia has elected to keep the official cash rate on hold at 1.5%. Everyone is waiting to see what the international interest rate movements will be and the RBA may act later in May - the wait and see approach. Lenders of course may opt to change rates as they opt to (if any) The last time the official cash rate was increased in November 2010. There are talks amongst some economists who have forecast a rate increase by the end of this year but most expect the cash rate to remain steady and of course others say the RBA may trim it further.
