10.01.2022 I worked on this project three years ago but I thought I'd use this iso time to remix it and tweak it a bit. This is a cover version of The Beach Boys' "Sail On, Sailor" from their 1973 album Holland. It was written by Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks with contributions from Ray Kennedy, Tandyn Almer, and Jack Rieley. This is one of my all time favourite songs and my tribute to one of my all time music heroes, Brian Wilson.... I always wanted the chance to record it or play it live. So I decided to finally have a go at it for a bit of fun. I wanted to exercise my arrangers ear and I wanted to do all the vocals and play all the instruments. That ambitious plan took me 12 months to complete in between other commitments but it was fun putting it all together. The harmonies in this song and the chord progressions are amazing and the message of hope this song brings to me every time I hear it is what takes me away. So I got to work to chart out the parts as an exercise in training my arrangers ear. I didn't buy any charts, or download anything from the we. I purely listened to the song and penned down the instrumental and vocal parts to the best of my ability. Then I set out to record the song. The drums are digital by virtue of the fact that I had no room to record a full drum kit at the time. The bass, guitars, keys, and even the saxes are all me. Speaking of saxes, things got tricky there because not only do I not own any, I can't play sax. I did not want to use synthesized saxes. So thanks to my mate Rudy Bela who owns a stack of saxes, he taught me how to blow the single notes I needed and after sounding like a dead cat for a week I nailed them.. I recorded this purely for fun and don't really intend on releasing it. But I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it. I hope I did Mr. Wilson's song justice. Cheers TB

08.01.2022 Who would like to hear a new "Oysters" tune?? This a new song we recorded in ISO during lockdown. We thought we'd use this time to stay busy and write and record stuff even if we couldn't hang out in person. We decided to have a crack at a tune Dave wrote called McCready's Mercedes. We all recorded our own parts at home and then mix the audio track and produced an ISO video. This track is one of a few new songs which will form a part of a new album due later in the year. So without further ado, here we go. We hope you like it.. Cheers

04.01.2022 Hi folks.. I hope you're all keeping well during this crazy times. Who'd have ever predicted this pandemic at the start of 2020. I hope you and your families and friends are safe, well and virus free and coping with life as we currently know it at the moment. Anyway, I decided there is only so much TV you can binge on while in iso so it was time to have a bit of music fun even if there are no gigs. So I decided to dust off my recording gear, grab the guitars and record a cove...r of my all time musical hero Jeff Lynne. This is my version of Send It, from ELO's 1986 album Balance of Power. It wasn't a hit for ELO but there was something about the melody that gave an idea to record a different version of the song. I actually thought it would make a great country song if you stripped away the synths and drum machines and replaced them with guitars. I did attempt to do this about 20 years ago and hand a bit of fun with it but I didn't have the gear to really get into it. Not long after the release of Balance of Power, ELO called it quits and Jeff Lynne went on to become a member of that awesome super group, The Travelling Wilburys. I always said Send It would have made a great Wilburys tune. So here it is. ELO meets the Wilbury's under my project name The Trembling Wannabes :) I hope you like it. Stay well. Love ya See more
