25.01.2022 3rd & 4th February Cobar NSW. We stayed at the only park in town; big but quiet apart from road-workers at this time of year. Cobar is a mining town approx 700 km from Sydney, population ~ 4,000. We spent a day visiting 2 mines, were not able to go in though as they are still working mines. Mining for copper, silver and gold. Also drove around checking the place out. Love the outback feel. Tonza played golf at Cobar, only 9 holes as the front nine was closed after a recent downpour. We’ve been very lucky with the weather in this outback stretch. It’s normally 40 degrees plus in early Feb and it’s been primarily early 30s, with cool nights. Rubbery weather.

21.01.2022 Wilcannia 5th 6th 7th February We were advised by many peeps to avoid Wilcannia but we decided we needed to see what it was all about. We stayed a couple Kms out of town at Warrawong caravan park and it was fantastic. Wilcannia is different and I can understand by looking at the Main Street that you may feel uncomfortable but the surrounding area is gorgeous. Our favorite day was one spent in White Cliff, 93 Kms north of Wilcannia (NSW’s Cooper Pedy). ... Spent the day checking out the underground living, motel, houses etc. we then went to an opal showroom, and a visit to the pub. Tonza even went back the next day for a game of golf, you couldn’t even tell it was a golf course it was all rock and red dirt! We are starting to realise there is nothing better than an outback sunrise or sunset. See more

11.01.2022 1st and 2nd February Nyngan, said to be the dead centre of NSW. Stayed at the Riverside caravan park. Arrived and set up before huge rain. Next day tourist day and they do it well. Amazing museum at the old train station, full of history, photos with the Big Bogan (yes like big banana etc), drove round the area and of course walked down Main Street. Nyngan was wiped out in 1990 by flood, the whole town was evacuated. Great community spirit put the town back on the map. Ton...za played the Nyngan Golf course. If you are interested, watch Back Roads on ABC Iveiw. It has featured Nyngan and our next few towns

06.01.2022 Quiet lunchtime bevy! White Cliffs: what an amazing place, we lucked a 25 degree day instead of the average 36 degrees.
