She adjusted her approach based on the age range of each group. We had children who can rarely stay in one place for a period of time who were engaged and enthusiastic and didn't move from their seat the whole time. 16.01.2022 #empoweringthrough2020 Hi Empowered Ed's, it looks like we are stuck with the challenges of corona a little longer yet, and I know it's taking a toll on many of... us. So I thought I would share a new series here in our Empowered Ed community with the #empoweringthrough2020 hashtag so we don't lose sight of some of the more positive outcomes that are happening as a result of this 'new normal' in 2020! The one that has impacted on my own family the most is my twins gaining access to some fantastic online learning opportunities and building skills and interests in areas previously only available to children in the cities...not regional Australia! We have done cooking classes, coding classes, dance classes, science workshops and they are all wonderfully interactive! At the moment, my school age girls are currently LOVING 'Tooning with Toonworld' and enjoy a 'virtual' class after school every Friday. Claudio and Mike have created interactive workshops that Encourage, Empower, Educate and Entertain children and I absolute love their ethos "Come with us on an exciting creative adventure where there are no mistakes!" We all know as educators how important it is to support children to unlock their own creativity and imagination and not set them up for failure and frustration with our (often unrealistic) expectations. My girls love to tell me that the 'evil rubbix' is a rubber/eraser as there are 'no mistakes' when drawing their cartoons...pretty awesome right? They have holiday and after school classes at the moment suitable for ages 5-10. If you run an outside school hours care service I highly recommend exploring this option as a way to also incorporate technology, literacy and creativity into your program - especially with holidays coming up!
