21.01.2022 2021 EQ MEMBERSHIPS NOW AVAILABLE RENEWING MEMBERS A reminder that 2020 Memberships will expire 31 December 2020.... A re-joining fee of $50 applies to memberships not renewed by 31 January 2021*. RENEW NOW: https://www.nominate.com.au/eaonline/portal/Login.aspx NEW MEMBERS There are four categories of individual memberships; Recreational, Participant, Supporter & Competitor,. The biggest difference between these categories and the decision that will govern your choice; is how you are currently involved with your equestrian activities. The RECREATIONAL category is for those who enjoy horses for pleasure. A Recreational member may have had limited association with EQ in the past and could be a member of an equestrian club that is outside of the seven EA disciplines and could participate at events within a closed club environment. This category is also popular for agistees, parents and volunteers. The SUPPORTER category is for those that aid in the facilitation of the sport such as coaches, officials, owners, grooms, and administrators. The PARTICIPANT category is for those riders who wish to compete but prefer to stay at the recreational levels of the sport. The COMPETITOR category is for those riders who wish to compete at the higher levels or wish to qualify for State, National championships or international events as well as being eligible for State squads. Junior Competitor Members (up to the year their turn 18) are able to apply for the Competitor EA/PCA Dual Junior Membership Refund of $50.00. All membership categories have 24/7 insurance. You can join as a Recreational, Supporter or Participant member and upgrade your membership category later, to avoid the $50 joining fee from 31 January 2021. Only pay the difference between the two membership categories. JOIN TODAY: https://www.qld.equestrian.org.au/con/membership-categories CODE OF CONDUCT When joining or renewing your EQ membership online, you will notice our new Code of Conduct video on the Terms page. The video must be played until the end to allow you to proceed. We are sincerely grateful to our Year 12 leaders from Interschool Queensland who volunteered their time and did an amazing job starring in this video. We ask everyone involved in equestrian to watch our video and follow the EA Code of Conduct as your actions will contribute to positive and rewarding experiences for our members, families and spectators. 17.01.2022 Aitken's Saddlery is a family owned business who are dedicated to sourcing the latest products for both horse and rider brought from around the world. When you ...need equipment that works as hard as you do, that performs under pressure and delivers results every time, you can count on finding the best at Aitken's. RIDER REWARDS The Aitken's loyalty program offers you the most exciting and exclusive rewards just to say 'thank you'. Earn 1 Point for every $1 you spend online and in-store to unlock up to $175*! SADDLE FITTING There are hundreds if not thousands of different saddles, each slightly different in design and performance. Which is why it is so important to get the right advice when choosing a saddle. It’s always recommended that you seek the advice of a Society of Master Saddlers qualified saddle fitter before you purchase a saddle. With experience and knowledge, the correct adjustments will ensure the best fit for both you and your horse. It is also recommended to have the fit of a saddle checked on a regular basis. A horse is a living animal and its back will continue to change and develop according to its age, feed, training, and health. These changes can affect the fit of your saddle and minor alterations are needed to maintain an optimal fit. We thank Aitken's for the sponsorship of our recent EQ Xmas Celebration Trackside, as well as the ongoing support and contribution made to Equestrian Sport in Queensland. 16.01.2022 The release of the 2021 has raised the question what is the Foundation Series and where have all the AAOR events gone?. I apologise the calendar has been re...leased before the Foundation Series announcement, but Dressage Queensland is waiting to hear if the EQ Board were satisfied with our final criteria. In a nutshell, the Foundation Series is essentially the same as the AAOR Series with a couple of little additions surrounding performance criteria - namely a combination is ineligible if they have won an OPEN 2* championship at that level (but would still be eligible to compete in the Foundation Series at a higher level), and they can’t be a member of a Dressage Queensland Squad. There will still be nominated events scores can be achieved at, but we will allow for clubs to nominate a non-starred event as well as the 1* and 2* events to allow our regional riders to participate in the series. Not to disadvantage our well-performed AAORs, we will be offering AAOR end of year performance awards at each level which run under the same criteria as open awards - that is, all competitive events count and weighting will apply to scores from 1* and above. Riders who are on a Dressage Queensland squad will be eligible for these awards. Combinations will only be able to contend for either the Foundation Series awards or the AAOR end of year awards, although the decision about which award the choose to contend does not need to be made until close of award applications at the end of the year. This is it in a nutshell!! More information about eligibility will be forthcoming

02.01.2022 REFORM OF EQUESTRIAN AUSTRALIA - EQ MEMBER RELEASE Friday 11 September 2020 Dear Equestrian Queensland members,... On Wednesday 9 September 2020, Equestrian Queensland (EQ) conducted an online members forum to discuss the Equestrian Australia (EA) Voluntary Administration process and the proposed changes to the EA Constitution. EQ and our members continue to support the proposed amendments to the EA Constitution as published on 30 July 2020 as clause 39 in the table via the link below. LINK: https://www.qld.equestrian.org.au//reform-equestrian-austr We remain concerned that the current proposed amendments published on 16 August 2020 as clause 40 in the table above does not represent the expressed views of the majority of EA members. We welcome the recent assurances from Equestrian NSW and Equestrian Victoria that they will not use their veto right without the support of their members. Yesterday, we wrote to all State Branch Chairs to seek their advice as to whether their Board and Branch would be willing to consider further revisions to the current draft EA Constitution to: a) include Clause 39 as proposed in the EA Draft Constitution published on 30 July 2020 and remove Clause 40 as published on 16 August 2020 b) include Equestrian Northern Territory (ENT) as a recognised Branch with equal rights to that of other Branches in the EA Draft Constitution c) replace the proposed clause 40 as published on 16 August 2020 with: ‘This Constitution can only be altered by Special Resolution, which does not have any effect unless on the same resolution, a simple majority of at least four of the seven Branches vote in favour.’ Any changes to the current draft EA Constitution will require the support of all six state branches currently recognised in the EA Constitution (EWA, ESA, EVic, ENSW & ETas & EQ) ahead of the EA Special General Meeting (SGM) being held on Tuesday 15 September 2020. Throughout this process we have continued to act in accordance with the wishes of our members - 99 per cent of whom voted in favor of the proposed reforms in the KordaMentha DoCA. Finally, EQ is committed to working with the new transitional board for EA, the State and Territory Branches, the national discipline committees and members to deliver real and lasting reform of EA in the interest of all members. Please don’t hesitate to contact the team at EQ if you have any questions on 07 3891 6611 or email [email protected] Equestrian Queensland David Finch, Chair Corey Keable, Vice Chair Sue Austin, Treasurer Nick Ballard, Director Jacqui Huppert, Director Naomi Lane, Director Jane Harms, Director

02.01.2022 Entries for our first Members Day 17/1 & Protocol Day 16/1 are now open on Nominate. Entries for both close 10/1/21. Late entries will not be accepted. Remember, you must be a TDI member to enter.
