24.01.2022 Verve Gardens has been operating in the Toowoomba Region since 2009. As an owner operated business Verve Gardens takes pride in helping customers make their their gardens a place that they are proud of and love to be in. Roslyn will take the time to discuss options and ideas and then, not only make it happen, but keep it all in good shape in the future! Verve specialises in solving garden problems through creative design and plant selection as well as careful diagnosis and treatment of pests and diseases. In addition to garden maintenance, Verve Gardens design service can provide drawn plans for whole house gardens or small spaces or can simply offer advice and recommendations. Design can also be a two-way process where, within guidelines, the garden evolves over time using client input in addition to Roslyn’s ideas and direction.

24.01.2022 Sometimes I don’t know whether to net up or just enjoy watching the gorgeous birds that take advantage of our productive trees! This male Figbird however is watching me just as closely as I’m watching him

23.01.2022 The joy of a working with a blank canvas. A recent design and build of a small back yard in Glenvale using steel edging, stone and and combination of fast growing plants and slower larger trees and bushes. Pigface and grasses disguise the emptiness to be filled by a small mallee while rice flowers and Brachyscome add a touch of colour to the new landscape. 22.01.2022 In April 2017 we planted 24 little tube stock plants of Melaleuca quercina at the front of The Barn in Oakey. It has not only survived without irrigation and more than 2 years of well below average rainfall but grown and thrived! The Oakey Bottlebrush only occurs in a small area around Oakey and Dalby so it's well suited to the soil and climate. Thanks to Patricia Gardner and the Crows Nest Community Nursery for advice and plants

21.01.2022 Gardening for others brings me all sorts of people and all sorts of styles. I learn from and appreciate them all, from native landscapes to super formal hedges to to old school flower gardens. And the dogs - there's always the dogs!

20.01.2022 This design utilises native plants to create a personalised and dynamic space. These clients requested a low maintenance garden that gave privacy whilst retaining a view.

18.01.2022 These are some beautiful gardens that have been allowed to flourish with the help of some green fingers.

14.01.2022 Design and renovation of a rear yard laid waste by plumbing work. Working on a budget knowing the back fence and old shed weren’t to be replaced any time soon, Lilypilly Cherry Surprise and Callistemon Slim have been used to provide a screen. The client’s sentimental Gardenias and Dietes were rescued and planted with grasses Poa labillardierei and Penistetum rubrum along with Westringia’s Aussie Box and Lavender Breeze. A rustic path built with found house bricks complements the style as well as the existing patio. It all looks a little overwhelmed at the moment but in time will form a soft natural landscape.

13.01.2022 Every property can be saved!

12.01.2022 Looking after plants while its hot and dry means that when the rains come they pay you back! Sasanqua camellias flowering exuberantly over a front fence tell us the cooler months are coming, ornamental ginger flowers stand upright and regal and and a baby Butcher bird hides among ridiculously flamboyant Tibouchina blooms

11.01.2022 Frantically getting ready for Christmas - so much to do! Lucky we have Rimsky K to match our vibe #hedging #vervegardens #christmas #gardening #toowoomba

10.01.2022 It is important to water during this hot, dry weather. As usual we are in the middle of a drought so to gain maximum benefit from minimum amounts, here are some simple tips. 1. Water in the morning before the sun intensifies and evaporates all your efforts. 2. Mulch, mulch, mulch to lock moisture into the soil.... 3. Always use a timer to avoid forgotten taps that can empty a tank in half a day. 4. If possible, install a drip irrigation system. Verve Gardens can help by designing and installing an irrigation system suited to your needs. 5. Soil wetter. Some soils will not absorb water if they have dried out too much. Soil wetter will allow water to penetrate to the roots. Happy watering!

10.01.2022 Beautiful garden moments from job to job and place to place

02.01.2022 Things that I love and hope to incorporate into my designs.
