25.01.2022 And we have colour on the EH! Factory Holden colour Gundagi grey. Modern paints a million times better these days and she wouldn't have looked this good even new.!

22.01.2022 Xy's really starting to take shape. Now on the home run!

22.01.2022 Swinging panels on and gapped. Lower tailgate and bonnet still need a buff before going back on. Going to be an awesome old van when its all done!

21.01.2022 With visibility a bit ordinary with the windows sheeted up in the rear quarters , a reverse camera was a good solution. There aren't to many places to stick one in an old Eh dash so we went with an old style bolt in gauge pod that they had back in the day. A bit of cutting welding and smoothing later and we have a neatly fitting screen thats in a functional spot that isn't taking away from the original look of the car. The camera itself is mounted under the spare wheel door at the back nearly completely out of sight.

21.01.2022 With the body all buffed time to swing some panels.

21.01.2022 Seam sealing and rubbing down the EH ready for some colour very soon!

19.01.2022 Some more movement on the EH. Satin grey dash and a few other bits and pieces painted and refitted. Underbody and floor pan inside blacked out. Braces in the rear fitted with foam and glued with anti flutter to help keep everything in check then bolted in with stainless button head bolts. Cargo area access panels done in the same tintable raptor as the rest and refitted with a squirt of fresh sealer and new screws. Underside of front guards and nose cone sprayed in black raptor.

17.01.2022 While its been a long time between posts its time to reveal one of the projects thats been on the go over the last 18 months and is now all finished. Chip and Lisa's car is a genuine XW GT and left the factory in Grecian Gold with saddle trim and a 351 Windsor 4 speed combo. We have stayed with keeping it true to how a GT should be kept with a few differences to improve the cars performance and how it drives. Fit, finish and attention to detail has been the big focus on th...e overall build. A massive list of new and or reconditioned parts has gone into this build and as a result it looks ,feels and even smells like a brand new car! Absolutely nothing has been neglected and pics just don't do this car justice ! Will give a more in depth run down of the build in another post but thought for now would share some pics of the finished product. If anyone is keen on having a look at it in the flesh it will be on display this Saturday at Tropical Melt Down show and shine at Springmount Raceway. Tickets need to be ordered online due to restrictions. See more

17.01.2022 Colour sanding and buffing begins. 2 guards,2 doors ,lower half of quarter panel done and lots more to go.... a job not to many enjoy doing but its what seperates a good paint job from a great one!

16.01.2022 The FNQ weather turned it on for the weekend for two beautiful sunny days for the All Ford Day in Mareeba on Saturday and the Cairns Swap Meet today. Lots of very nice cars to see over two days. One of the most rewarding things about doing these cars is seeing the owners taking them out and enjoying them! Con brought his Top End Customz built Vermillion Fire Xy out on both days and picked up Best Sedan and Best 8 cylinder today in Cairns. Congrats!

15.01.2022 Great day out at Tropical Meltdown today. The XW GT done well flying the Top End Customz flag and picked up Top Restored, Top Sedan , Top Elite (Best in show) and Peoples Choice. While it wasn't built as a show car as such it's nice to get rewarded after such a big build. Congrats to all the other entrants on their results and to Dan at A1 Autofinish for putting the show and shine aspect of Tropical Melt Down together.

14.01.2022 Chargers starting to come together. Doors, guards, nose cone and stone tray bolted back on .

14.01.2022 So while much of last year was spent working on the Charger there was another significant project on the go as well. This xy was to be a tidy up but turned into a full resto. Sand blasting revealed a mint body and panels requiring only a floor pan to be replaced and the lower boot channel. A few small pin holes here and there rounded out rust work. The engine bay was smoothed of spot welds ,factory creases and excess holes were welded up. Lots of time was spent tidying up pan...el gaps and alignment. Trans tunnel under the rear seat area was raised and widened slightly to give more clearance to the tail shaft. New front seat braces fitted to replace the dented originals. Every seam sealed and floor raptor lined in and out. Vintage Air AC has been installed and most of the plumbing hidden under the guard. Brand new wiring harness from headlights to tail lights replaces the original one. Suspension has all been replaced front and rear and all components painted before going back in. Hoping to have this one finished soon. New motor is in since these pics and its off to get exhaust built and finish off the wiring. Then last of the fit up and detailing and its all done. All in all a very thorough restoration and as a result one killer car! See more

12.01.2022 Sealed up the cargo area of the EH pano today with Rator Liner tinted to the body colour. Only a very light texture inside here on this one. More just to have a durable finish than regular 2 pack can give and to tidy it up to look fresh.

11.01.2022 Update on the Xy Falcon. Engines in, brakes and mechanicals are all but sorted. Getting the electrical side of things wrapped up now. Exhaust still to do and last bits of the interior fit up once all wirings been run. Getting closer to seeing this one finished! Not long now.

10.01.2022 Xy mid build pics

09.01.2022 While its not completely 100% finished just yet its finally on the road and driving! Will be on display at Atherton high school show and shine/swap meet this Saturday. Should make for a great day. They drew in heaps of cars last year and are expecting even more on Saturday. So come along, have a look over the falcon and say hi.

08.01.2022 Charger outside getting some sun!

07.01.2022 Headed out to Springmount Raceway today for Tropical Meltdown Burnout Comp and Show and Shine. Lots of burnout mayhem and some very nice cars on display! Flying the flag for Top End Customz was Con and Carla's stunning vermillion fire XY Falcon. It was awarded with Top Restored, Top Original and Top Panel work.

06.01.2022 2nd round of parts for the EH painted today. Got a bit brave today and for the first time in a very very long time tried my hand at painting these parts myself under the watchful eye of Dave Barclay. Thanks mate for the refresher course and nice work on painting the body yesterday.

05.01.2022 Getting the door hardware back in on the EH. New handles and locks. New glass is something alot of people overlook on a restoration but makes such a difference to the final finish. Glass 4 Classics supplied all new door, quarter and tailgate glass for this one. Great service , very help full and great to deal with.

04.01.2022 And some more EH bits painted today. Almost all done now.

04.01.2022 So with Con and Carla's XY all but complete I thought a shout out to all who were involved in its build was in order. So in no particular order Top End Customz would like to thank these people and businesses for their parts in the restoration. *Jason France at LM Egineering for the Sand blasting and priming of the car and lots of fiddly bits and pieces. *Brian Shorey for laying down the beautifully done paint work.Bringing all my work under the shiny pretty stuff to life. ... *Frank DeIacovo for all the mechanical work and piecing together the 351 clevo for a perfect balance of power and streetability. *Eugene Serravalle and the team at AEM Service Centre for completely rewiring the car from front to back and doing the super neat Air Con install. *Adrian Parisotto for the hand built full stainless steel 2 1/2" twin system exhaust. *Michael Taylor at Taylor's Upholstery for seat and trim repairs. *Wade ,Joel, Greg, Tennille and the crew at JKW All Paints for supplying technical advice/service and most of the materials that Top End Customz use on our builds *Con and Carla Iacutone for giving me the opportunity to turn what was supposed to be a quick tidy up of their nice car into a full strip down and rebuild to make it the beautiful car it is now! The goal posts shifted a couple times through the build but we got there in the end. Nothing left to do now other than enjoy it! See more

01.01.2022 Bonnet finished, scoop to go on still and secure the bonnet scoop cut out finisher ring that i made up to tidy up where the air cleaner hole was previously cut. Also plated up the braces that were just cut and left open. Much neater now. Been hanging out to get the decals on there since its been painted. Love the 70's muscle cars black outs and stickers

01.01.2022 All ready for Tropical Melt Down Show and Shine tomorrow.
