25.01.2022 My mum was always so good at keeping the wrapping and reusing it the next year. I have a draw dedicated to old wrapping but I'm running low and dont want to buy new wrapping. Any clever suggestions on alternatives to use for wrapping Christmas presents this year?

23.01.2022 Another useful way to get bottle tops back into the circular economy and out if our water ways. Let's hope they reuse the offcuts also

23.01.2022 To all those who pinched their kids lolly stash for breakfast this morning, don't forget to redcycle the wrappers

23.01.2022 Wow so innovative Woolworths is trialing plastic free in their fruit & veg section. However lettuce will still be in plastic ... Is there some food safe law that I'm unaware of where they have to package lettuce - fruit and veg? Because I can still remember not too long ago, there was no plastic wrapping on any fruit and veg, and I'm not that old. Please explain?

16.01.2022 When you purchase a recycled plastic product how do you know that it is actually recycled? Due to COVID-19, oil prices have plummeted making Virgin Plastic cheaper them Recycled plastic. Many recyclers are mixing this cheaper virgin plastic with recycled plastic and selling it as 100% post consumer product.... It's time we have more transparency within the recycling industry. https://www.eco-business.com//cheap-virgin-plastic-is-bei/

14.01.2022 I know this is not the nicest post to finish 2019 on, but... The reality is we live a very convenient, consumer driven life without conscious thought to the affects of our actions or lack of actions. Our hope for 2020 for ourselves and for our community is one of living more consciously, more slowly and more thoughtfully.... Let's turn the corner for the benefit of these beautiful creatures and for the place we call home

10.01.2022 Last part for our MVP extruder getting printed today. We have also been testing out best way to shred the HDPE plastic waste. Trial today didnt go as hypothesized so onto plan B. We will be testing out our extruder next week to see the quality of the 3D printer filament from 100% recycled HDPE plastic. We will also be testing with a % of virgin plastic to test out quality. Fun and games.

09.01.2022 We have had many requests to take plastic bottle tops from the community. However we cant take them...just yet! What are we up to? We are currently working on finishing off our Extruder machine, we had a few glitches. Once the Extruder is functional we will be testing out the chipping and extruding of the Plastic (HDPE) bottle tops into 3D printer filament. This process we estimate will take 6-12months to get consistency, quality and a feasible product to sell.... Yes this seems like a very long time but unfortunately due to the nature of plastic waste with contamination, variations in colour, sizing, quality and type makes the process to success a long one. At this stage we have enough Plastic Bottle Tops for our testing phase so we wont be looking at accepting Tops until the middle of 2020. We want to say a HUGE THANKYOU to everyone who has filled in a survey, given us valuable advice, introduced us to leaders in industry and government and all of you who continue to support this vision to get plastic waste out of our oceans and give this precious resource a new life. Wishing you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a more Sustainable 2020. The team of Tops Off

06.01.2022 Instead of buying new this Chrissy, try upcycling, reusing, repurposing or recycling used goods. A refreshing News piece featuring The Worlds Biggest Garage Sale pop up shop "If the shoe fits" in Brissy https://www.facebook.com/1466607620224761/posts/2494478877437625/

04.01.2022 Companies are really trying but is it about changing packaging or changing consumer behaviour? Which is going to have the biggest impact? And BTW they are still using plastic lids - what are they planning to with the "plastic resealable cap, enabling the can to be refilled and reused, just like a plastic water bottle."

02.01.2022 Envision hands is struggling with the influx of bottle tops from people who are desperate to save them from landfill: Due to the requirements to hold off with forwarding through caps, a number of our collection points have chosen to withdraw themselves as collection points due to becoming overfilled with caps. We ask that you please hold on to your caps until we can receive a new intake.... Please see below for our original letter for further information. Thanks again for all your ongoing support

01.01.2022 Did you know you can recycle most soft plastic packaging such as bread bags, chip packets and even those green plastic reusable woolies bags. Here is a list to help you out this Chrissy

01.01.2022 Bread tag came in handy today with a broken flip flop. I love a simple bit of innovative repurposing
