11.01.2022 A man walked into a tile shop and found a cracking good pasta with broccoli and anchovies and a crisp pinot grigio. You don’t see that every day. European Ceram...ics has a stylish - I mean, really stylish - cafe called Casa Nostra Caffe. 09.01.2022 Beautiful morning in the Asparagus patch.

08.01.2022 Knowing your entitlements can help you spot a bad apple when looking for fruit picking work. Know your minimum pay rate. If you’re an adult casual worker pic...king fruit or vegetables and paid an hourly rate, you should get at least $24.36 per hour under the award. Employees getting piecework rates are paid by output rather than hourly rates for time worked. If you’re on piece rates, these need to be based your individual efforts (what you individually have picked, packed, pruned or made). It’s not based on a group effort. Don’t respond to job ads that only have a first name and a mobile number. Always ask for the business name and Australian Business Number (ABN) of your employer. Avoid job offers that require upfront fees, include ‘free’ accommodation or guarantee a quick visa. Be wary of work offers that lock you into accommodation. Our horticulture showcase can help you check all your entitlements so you can spot if something’s wrong: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/horti/working-the-harvest-trail

08.01.2022 These hands have been picking and packing and cooking asparagus for more that 40 years.

08.01.2022 This is what we are up against. Always buy local.

03.01.2022 Thanks for all your enquiries about work picking asparagus. We are doing OK for the moment.
