25.01.2022 H O M E M A D E A C A I homemade is a good option, if you want to see results. Why? . . I made this deee-lish açai at just 477 calories (and a whopping 31g protein), compared to most store bought açai which can bring you up to minimum 600calories in one bowl and have very little protein content (leaving you hungrier). .... Store bought usually use sweetened açai, a buttload of granola and the additional fruit on top (while pretty) adds cals. Plus the 150calorie oversized table spoon of peanut butter on top! . There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with enjoying either option mind you, but it is just as lovely to make an açai at home with your mate after your Sunday walk as it is to sit down at a cafe and do the same thing! . The only set back is the washing up!!! . . Just a little food for thought (see what I did there, ayyyyyye ) if you’re trying to see body comp or fat loss goals, so you can have your açai & eat it, too! . P.S. Start with your big goal, and work backwards to break it down, until you get to where you are now. . And there you have it, you’ve just reverse-engineered a step by step plan to where you want to be! . Start with your big goal. 22.01.2022 2020 taught me to just have a go. My ACT live event was one of the highlights of my 2020. It never would’ve happened if I didn’t just give it a go!! I was SO scared that no one would buy tickets. I announced it anyway. ... It sold out. Don’t hold yourself back for fear of failure. Failure is a beautiful piece of an intricate puzzle. 2020 taught me that when things don’t go to plan, that is not a failure, but a lesson. A tool to help steer you to a different path. Eventually, the right one. The worst that could happen is that things don’t go to plan. BUT HECK, even when you plan things perfectly - things (like the Rona) can happen anyway!! There is ALWAYS a solution to every problem. All you can do is readjust & have another go. It’ll work out, so long as you just keep readjusting & having a go. If you want to do something, do it. Start a business. Set a weight loss goal. A performance goal. A savings goal. Launch a product. Write a book. Throw yourself into it & give it your all. You LITERALLY can do anything & everything you want. Be patient, resilient and persistent in your pursuit & you will not fail. Give your goals & dreams a CHANCE. Everybody wants to be healthy, nobody wants to give up their vices. ... Everybody wants to be their own boss, nobody wants to risk starting a business. Everybody wants more money, nobody wants to put in the long, tiresome, monotonous hours in the back end. If you want something, whatever it may be, remember that it may require some sacrifice, discipline & self reflection. But ANYONE can achieve ANYTHING, if you’re willing to do what others won’t. 20.01.2022 A coffee a day keeps the doctor away One of the most common questions I get asked (no joke!!) is if you have to give up coffee to lose weight. Uhhhh NUH AH HUNNI. I don’t want to be a part of that world haha. ... If you account for the cals, then you’re right! The only piece of advice I would give, is that if your sleep is affected - you should definitely consider cutting back on caffeine as a whole (not exclusive to coffee!) to avoid disrupting your circadian rhythm too much so you get a solid 7-8hrs snoozing in! As with anything, moderation is key. But more than likely your daily cuppa Joe isn’t the main culprit when it comes to fat gain (or struggling to lose fat). Coffee is one of those 1percenters that we keep focusing on. Sure cutting it right out could help very slightly... but there’s so many other big things you could better place your focus. Stop focusing on the little tiny percenters & instead focus on the big players in the fat loss game - moving more, monitoring your portions, eating your veggies and getting a good night sleep. So... I will take a minute to plan next week & get my market haul though (& wash my hair - it’s been a hot minute ), because it is an important part of my self-care routine & staying on track for me! .... I don’t ‘meal prep’ as such, but I do ‘meal plan’. . I take the time to plan 5-6 days ahead, so I can get the right amount of groceries on my shopping list, minimise waste and it stops me from buying stuff I don’t need at the shops, and reaching for a bunnnnch of extra snacks through the week! . I chose to start my business, with the same fear that anyone has of failing. ... I continue to choose every day to work on my business, so that I CAN live my work from home life. I chose to uproot myself and move cities. To be near the beach. I chose to pursue an active, healthy life. I continue to choose to prioritise health and fitness and looking after myself every day. Having a successful business, living by the beach, and even my physical appearance is all a result of deliberate, consistent action. Not luck! If you want to achieve something, make it a goal. Then make the choice every day to make deliberate, targeted action towards that goal. Do that consistently, and you WILL get there. Whatever that goal may be. But whatever you do. 19.01.2022 Let’s Discuss For this question most of us selected calories/calorie deficit, which is not completely wrong. A calorie Deficit is the principle of fat loss. It is the ONLY WAY to lose fat. However, the most important part of a regime is ADHERANCE/COMPLIANCE. ... You could have the perfect diet, created through a calorie deficit on paper... But you will yield ZERO results from that diet unless you adhere to it aka - stick to it. In fact - nearly ALL diets work, if you adhere to them (that doesn’t make them sensible or sustainable). And not just for a week, a month or even three - but adhering for long enough that you can succeed in not just your little goals, but your BIG GOALS too. It is something so simple, yet it is one of the most challenging parts of undertaking a regime. 18.01.2022 One thing you can do to help with results. Right now. With absolutely MINIMAL EFFORT.. Drink. Some. Water. Honestly, one of the most underrated fat loss tools we have in our belt!!! Hydration is a miracle worker!* ... It’s great for your energy, your health, your bodily functions, your performance, heck - even your SKIN! (Talk about a glooow up) Just getting a simple couple of litres in each day will help you to see some positive changes, so why not incorporate this incredibly easy change!! One thing I like to do is put a 500mL-ish glass next to my bed at night & when I wake up in the morning, I drink it! I sip away for 5 peaceful minutes before I get up in the bustle of the world. 15.01.2022 Feeling overwhelmed with everything your supposed to be doing? Same girl, same. Go to the gym, but don’t go for the wrong reasons. And also don’t go too much, but don’t not go, cause it’s good for you. But don’t use the word good and bad, because nothing is good and bad. Except food, but is it? Yes it is, No its not. Because all food is equal. Except when you’re tracking, all food has its own calorie content. But don’t count calories. Although what gets measured gets impro...ved, so make sure you’re measuring and counting everything, but also make sure you’re listening to your body, your body knows best. And eat healthy, but don’t use the word healthy cause what’s healthy and what’s not healthy? But eat everything, cause food has no moral value... Except that, don’t eat that it’s bad - wait.. no food is bad. Fuck me! I can’t keep up, and how are you expected to?! I promise you, if you keep trying to fit into other peoples boxes - YOU WILL NEVER WIN. Someone will always have an opinion, and there will always be another fad or another new rule!! Instead - sit down and reflect. What movement do YOU ENJOY?! What foods make YOU feel vibrant, energetic and fresh? What makes YOU happy? What makes YOU feel YOUR best? What makes YOU FEEL confident? And then, prioritise that! 12.01.2022 Weekend Vibes HOT TIP If you consistently avoid having a social life in order to see results - you’ll never learn how to create balance around it. It’s not about having the ‘perfect’ 8,10 or 12weeks. Because then what happens in week 14? Or 26? Or 40? ... If you avoid going out for dinner, drinks or ice cream for example, you’ve not really built any good habits around these social activities and, in turn, how to balance it all out long term to eliminate yo-yo ing all over the place! The suns coming up, Friday night drinks, Saturday bbqs & Sunday sessions are going to be a thing in the next few months. And I bloody love that. Don’t avoid them for the sake of your goal. Instead, learn how to incorporate a more balanced, sustainable approach to your goals. Because, contrary to popular belief, you can have the old cheeky bevo or three and still see long-term results. Deprivation & Restriction is never the answer. Plus - life is worth bloody LIVING & the good times with your pals is what you’re going to remember

I’m Tori I grew up playing sport, and representing my state at nationals for soccer, netball, athletics & swimming - so safe to say activity has always been a big part of my life! ... It was only natural that I progressed into the industry and particularly taking to leading small group PT and bootcamps from just 20years old. I ran fitness businesses in Toowoomba, Melbourne, Sydney and now the Gold Coast & Brisbane, and continued studies across the world learning from industry leaders - from Hawaii to New York & most recently at the international fitness summit in Barcelona. 08.01.2022 PIMP yo Chicken & Broccoli (2 serves) 1 - Slice 300g chicken, half an onion and half a capsicum. 2 - Put 1 tsp olive oil in a saucepan, heat and throw in the chicken, onion & capsicum.... 3 - Steam 1C broccoli & add to the pan. 4 - Add 1/2 Sachet of fajita seasoning! Cook until broccoli is tender and chicken cooked through! 5 - Place a handful baby spinach in 2 bowl, add half of your mix into each bowl, and top with a quarter of an avo, a teaspoon of sour cream and a teaspoon of salsa! 08.01.2022 I’ve done more home workouts in the last 4weeks than I have in the last 4 years! I’ve been pressed for time, learning to juggle a lot of new ‘stuff’. It’s meant that sometimes my workout is a 15minute circuit on the balco between FaceTimes, instead of the 45min weight session I had planned. ... And you know what, that is enough!! It is much better to deviate from the plan and do what you can (even if it is 10min), rather than nothing at all, because it’s not going to be enough. Life is not predictable, and perfection does not exist. Don’t give up on a workout, because you can’t do as much.. rather, do as much as you can with the time you DO HAVE. I move for my mind, for focus, for clarity and for energy. 07.01.2022 How do I stay on track while away? Firstly, before I give you some tips I want to preface that a few days here and there away wont undo your progress & if you don’t want to, you don’t HAVE to try and control anything on holidays! Live yo’ life & enjoy the room service!! But in the case you do have a specific goal, here’s a couple of things you can implement;... 1 - as per pic 2, I always like to be prepared with quick options - ESPECIALLY snacks and some fruit. Having this option available makes me less likely to hit the bar snacks, chips and lollies! 2 - Try and keep some activity in! Whether that’s a sweaty one spot workout in your room, or a walk every morning. Don’t overthink it, just get in some daily movement :) 3 - Start the day right! Getting a good balanced brekky will help you to be properly fuelled and set a good tone for the day. 4 - Try and have some veggies or salad at least once each day. Just to get them vitamins in! 5 - don’t over think, don’t stress if it doesn’t go to plan and enjoy ya damn holiday @ Toowoomba, Queensland
07.01.2022 In order to see change long term, you are going to have to be open to self-reflection, personal growth & yes, sometimes hard truths and discomfort. The reality is, all diets work*, but only if you DO the work. It is not necessarily lack of ‘knowing what to do’ that has lead you to a path of wanting to create change. ... It is a lack of application. You know what you need to do/change. You know what habits are leading you away from your goals. It’s more a matter of whether or not you are willing to be accountable for your own actions, willing to reflect on your habits (without judgement) and pull yourself up on what you need to address & improve! 06.01.2022 So, you’ve set your resolutions. Would I be correct in saying they look like this I’m going to eat healthier I want to lose 5-10kg That’s it, no more drinking - I’m off the booze... As above, but insert *sugar*. I’ll sign up to the gym & do more exercise. If you have set resolutions like this, I encourage you to revisit them! These goals (while they have a good intent) are potentially setting you up for failure. My Advice? Make your resolutions more routine based, specific and use affirming language. As well as this, focus on improving behaviours. Using language such as I will as opposed to I want to Make sure you can measure/keep track of your goal - ie, I will commit to 3 workouts per week for the next 12 weeks. Address Behaviours and habits with a solution, for example I am committed to prepping food on ‘x’ day, to avoid takeout when I’m tired during the week. Think about goals for overall wellness, like committing to a better sleep routine (I will put my phone away/tv off at 8pm) or committing to a water intake/ daily step goal. Start SMALLER. Make every goal achievable, to ensure positive reinforcement and longevity. Little consistent action will continue to compound into big things!! This is just the start! Personal Trainers, Group fitness instructors, Bikini competitors & People that have lost weight ARE NOT QUALIFIED to give you nutritional advice without having done Nutritional certifications. And I don’t mean an online, self-paced nutrition course or the basic crappy rundown you get doing your PT Certs. .... Nutritional Advisors, Nutritionists & Dieticians are. . I have opened a few businesses, dealt with a few business lawyers, had heaps of discussions about clauses & contractual law. I have a pretty good grasp on the basics of biz law.. does that make me able to write up your new businesses’ contracts? F*^K NO. . Same goes for your trainer.. they may understand the basics (maybe even a little more) - but without proper certification and further study, they are not equipped to take your individual circumstances and create educated recommendations for optimal function & wellbeing. . If your (uncertified) personal trainer is giving you advice on nutrition, setting you macro & calorie targets, or even a meal guide - give them the boot. . There is SO MUCH MORE to optimal nutrition than just Protein Shakes, Calories In, Calories Out & Macros.. and there is the potential to cross some dangerous lines here. . Your body is a network of different systems, with different requirements working in harmony to support you. Everything you eat plays a vital role in your wellbeing. . So please, be aware of this on social media. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors on here - and a lot of people just repeating what their fav influencer or fitness professional said without even researching it, let alone studying . 02.01.2022 FRUIT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAT. So eat that watermelon. We all know fruit and veggies are full of good stuff like fibre, vitamins and minerals. We also know that highly processed foods* should be eaten in moderation. ... YES, the laws of calorie balance are the PRINCIPLE of fat loss so overconsumption of ANYTHING will cause weight gain, BUT that does not mean that a calorie deficit should trump good nutritional quality. WHY? Because.. chances are you started your weight loss journey to FEEL BETTER. To be honest, if you’re consistently eating in a calorie deficit, but filling the deficit with poor nutrient quality foods - you may lose fat, yes, BUT you’re still going to feel tired, lethargic, low in energy/have energy slumps, struggle through workouts, brain fog, poor sleep quality... you get the idea! You also don’t address any behavioural or habitual tendencies around food choices which got you here in the first place... and therefore, once you reach your goal - you’ll most likely slip back in to the same habits pre-deficit and watch weight creep back in. So, please, stop trying to find the latest ‘plan’ where you can do everything you’re currently doing without addressing the real issues and still see results... because that is just going to lead you down the same path of disappointment over and over again, that you’ve likely been on for years! I love taking a quick midday break to charge up in the sun, read a chapter or two and refill my cup before I get back into arvo work time! I find when I get back into work in the arvo I am less stressed, more inspired, more productive and the quality of work is better (and quicker). ... By looking after myself, I simply DO more & am better equipped to look after my girls. This is something that took a while to come to terms with (in a society that glorifies busyness & associates success with the never ending grind), but practising self care & awareness as well as slowing down has helped me to actually achieve more & better serve my clients, friends and loved ones.
