It found that sitting up straight can improve math performance!!! Slumping, researchers say, is a defensive posture that can trigger old negative associations which in turn decreases test scores.... Surprisingly even those who weren't anxious about doing their math found it more difficult while slumped. The same message applies to athletes, musicians, and public speakers. Your brain doesn't work as well when you slump, it triggers old negative memories in the brain and body, and you don't think as clearly. Appropriate chiropractic care and exercise that promotes good posture may bring wide-reaching benefits.
