25.01.2022 Whilst they are all budding soloists, the lovely friendships and support for each other from different studios across Brisbane is what eisteddfods are all about! Well done to all these wonderful girls whom I watched at Redlands yesterday. And thank you to the lovely adjudicator for sharing the places around and acknowledging the varying individual strengths of the dancers. Please keep the support for each other (parents, teachers and students) at the forefront of your min...ds as you continue this journey in dance competitions. No matter what place you come, where you dance or what you dance, respect the journey and hard work each child has taken to get them to this point x.

22.01.2022 *** CURRENT ADVICE FOR DANCE STUDIOS *** As you are aware some students will be going back to schools in Queensland next week, this has prompted Dance Studio Ow...ners to ask if they can start dance classes for these age groups. The current advice is that private dance studios still need to fall in line with the federal government’s advice around indoor sports centres and gyms and remain shut, but rest assured Ausdance QLD (and the Ausdance network around Australia) is working hard with State governments to get us all back to work safely as soon as practical. Stay up to date with sector specific advice by joining Ausdance QLD (it's free). Real-time advice is distributed and available to members as advice changes. https://ausdanceqld.org.au/

20.01.2022 Today is international dance day. As we are all not performing together nor performing on stage, let's see if we can post photos of dance for one day. Any photo that depicts what dance means for you or someone you know. Raise the awareness of dance and its value in society. This is me performing in Scheherazade by Jacqui Carroll (circa 1990), one of my favourite ballets. A segment of this ballet was meant to be performed for QB's Gala in March this year now scheduled for October.

13.01.2022 It’s been a difficult week for the dance industry (and others) with their sudden shut down on Monday due to new Government requirements. However amongst this uncertainty and stress has also emerged dance studios with the adaptability, confidence and commitment to quickly continue their service offering via online platforms. The physical, social and mental health of our children are so very important and I would like to commend and thank the studios for this. ... #stayathome #keepdancing

11.01.2022 I was fortunate to attend John Byrne's (Classical Dance Australia) Posture, Placement and Technique and the Art and Anatomy of Port De Bras over the break at Danielle's Studio of Dance on the Gold Coast. John is an amazing man with a wealth of knowledge in this area. Looking forward to implementing this in my classes this term! 09.01.2022 ** 20 people per premise ** CovidSafe INDUSTRY plan There has been some confusion about the 20 people per premise rule in the media and on social media. It is 2...0 people per premise unless otherwise approved with a CovidSafe INDUSTRY plan. The requirements for this industry plan were announced last Tuesday and we have been working solidly on it since then. We understand the government has said all approvals should be granted by Friday. Please don't expect this. You need to be consulted on this plan (it has to be achievable for you), it needs to be submitted and approved by multiple levels of government and you need to implement this plan. Our team of volunteers has been working around the clock to make it happen and will continue to do so. There is no additional government body or dedicated government support creating these plans for us. Until yesterday, we'd been told the 12th of June which is already an unbelievably short time frame. What can you do to help we hear you say?... please spread the word and help correct misunderstandings, please encourage patience and when we get there (and we WILL get there), please thank our amazing professional volunteers!
