21.01.2022 Usually our Christmas float with Santa would be setting off on its daily tours around our streets playing carols and bringing festive cheer to children and adults alike. Unfortunately this year due to the pandemic we are unable to take our float out. We are really very very sorry that due to the restrictions it isn't possible. We are, however, hoping to take an Easter sleigh out later next year and spread some Easter joy.
15.01.2022 This tells you about the launch of the world's first 'Santaceptor' in Bury, Greater Manchester. This is a Police Interceptor that will take Santa around the com...munities of Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington delivering a thousand selection boxes. This unorthodox Santa visit is a collab with Police Chase UK who will be providing their TV and Filming action vehicle to our charity and have waived the 1500 that would be chargeable to their usual clientele in the TV and Filming industry. We have had backing from Tesco Bury, Morrisons Ramsbottom, Bury Council's Councillors, The Rotary Club of Bury and The Rotary Club of Tottington & Bury West. We have now had authorisation from our local Inspector for Greater Manchester Police to use this police vehicle on the streets in full police livery with twinkling lights and classic Christmas anthems playing through the loud hailer, the Santaceptor came about when we heard that local Grottos and the Rotary sleigh that usually goes around the community would be cancelled this year! The backing story is that this is Santa's way of intercepting a pandemic from cancelling Christmas. The vehicle will be followed by an escort vehicle that will be carrying the selection boxes, the van has just been purchased with funding from the National Lottery and HM Government for our Charity. Volunteers including the PCSOs and councillors will hand out the choccy treats whilst Santa greets local children while being socially distanced from children. We have pencilled in a publicity event at Tesco in Bury so that we can socially distance for interviews and would like to have the local and larger news teams to cover this good news story. 08.01.2022 Wanted to share this. Paul Simpson, a member of Northampton Becket Rotary Club, had been working hard delivering to food banks to four locations in Northampton.... He was well known for organising major fundraising events in Northampton including the annual Dragon Boat Race which he chaired for 6 years and helped to raise tens of thousands of pounds and the Santa Fun Run. Paul decided to do a solo sponsored walk of the180 mile Offa's Dyke to raise further funds to support food banks in the community. The 66 year old was on his 4th day of the charity trek when he was knocked down by a tractor and killed. See more
