17.01.2022 8TH NOVEMBER - PACIFIC MAINSTREAM JAZZ BAND PMJB is Queensland’s longest running Jazz Band and is currently in its 47th year. Founded by Les Nicholson in 1974 both he and John Ruffle are inaugural members of the band. The band has always played a mixture of Traditional Jazz and Swing Jazz, hence the name Mainstream defining the middle ground of the various genres.... PMJB recoded the first ever locally recorded and produced record album in 1978 and has played at Festivals all over Queensland. PMJB members were the nucleus of the Stokes-Nicholson Big band which is in its 31st year of playing together. 10.01.2022 ANTHONY MINEHAN // Saxophonist Grade 12 student Anthony is a young and upcoming musician at the Jazz Club and has performed in a number of bands, festivals and functions this year. Including, Pimlico by the Sea, Pimlico Big Band, The Northern Blues Collective, Foots Hill Blues and Roots Festival, Blues Bash, JBD function, Malpass in Home Hill, Chico Rio, Hoi Polloi, and of course the Townsville Jazz Club.
