24.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR TNS ATHLETES SELECTED With the recent unfortunate cancellation of the Australian All Schools Championships for 2020, QLD Athletics has selected an honorary Queensland team based off the results from the Queensland All Schools Championships and the North Queensland Championships. QA has selected the first two in each age group, first 2 multiclass and first North Queensland athlete at the NQ Championships in each age group and events that have been contested at past All Schools.

23.01.2022 ATHLETE SHOUTOUT Wish Jascha Coetser and Jake Doran GOOD LUCK today as they are competing at the ACT Titles in Canberra this weekend Jascha is the current 2020 110m ACT champion and coming off his PB run last weekend at QSAC, he looks to be in great shape for back to back titles ... I’m thinking we are in for a good year with athletes and parents enjoying a return to athletics with their first meet of 2021. ... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Many many thanks to all volunteers, officials and parents for their assistance to kick off the first SUMMER SERIES meet of 2021 BUT It doesn’t stop there as we return Saturday 27th February for our second SUMMER SERIES meet. We have currently put the program of events on hold for the second meet until this weekend while we plan and adjust the program to suit these incredible numbers as I think we will see even more teenage athletes wanting to compete due to the Permit Status it holds. We are always in need of more volunteers to assist especially with setup and other behind the scenes positions. 11.01.2022 2021 Qld Track & Field Championships and Qld Track Classic important info Queensland Athletics State Championships, U14 to Open will now be held on the 11th to 14th March 2021. The 2021 Queensland Track Classic will be a World Athletics Silver Permit Meet and will be held on the evening of Saturday the 27th March. ... QA will be adding a new Shield Meet to the Calendar, the Darren Thrupp Shield and this will be held as a pre meet to the Queensland Track Classic on the afternoon of the Saturday the 27th March. The Australian Athletics Championships also starts in Sydney on the 12th of April

10.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT NQ CHAMPS INFO*** Preregistration of Shade Shelters Spectators are welcome to bring shade shelters to the Mackay venue, especially as there is no shade available being a new facility. ... The following guidelines will need to be followed due to Covid requirements. Everyone must preregister shade shelters and get approval to setup shade shelters by no later then Thursday 1st October. A household is allowed only to setup shelters (to assist with management of social distancing) People from the same household agree that only people from that household, where social distancing is not required, can use the erected shade shelter. Must not use tent pegs or other items that penetrate the ground to secure the shade shelter. The shade shelter must be weighted down at all times. Shade shelters must be dropped/packed up at the end of each day of competition There is limited space at this venue. If space runs out priority will be giving those clubs / households that are required to be at the venue all day - because their athletes are competing.
