16.01.2022 Veterans and their families will be better supported with a new income support system, Process Direct. Launched over the weekend, Process Direct will become the... primary system our income support staff will use to access client information and claims to support veterans. As part of the Process Direct launch, new functionality has been added to our online service portal, MyService. Using MyService, veterans can now submit claims for Service Pensions and Veteran Payment, request a lump sum advance, and advise DVA of any change in circumstances related to their income support payment. 11.01.2022 The following email has tonight been sent to the Prime Minister. "Prime Minister Now that you have tried to negate our ‘compelling case’ (your words of budget night last year) in this year’s budget, would it now be possible to obtain a copy of the Tune Review Report of August 2019? To say that we are disgusted by tonight’s budget is an understatement. You have thrown $100 a fortnight in Rent Assistance at the poorest 20% of the TPI population and then hope to think that this... would address the 62% economic loss compensation where $380 per fortnight for all TPIs (at a minimum) would have been needed to bring it to at least the tax-adjusted minimum wage is mind-blowing. It is hypocrisy that you recognised the economic loss of the millions or people who fell on hard times due to the pandemic to help them at least receive the Minimum Wage, but yet you have still failed to recognise the 28,000 TPIs who arguable face similar or worse circumstances but unlike these other Australian only difference is we will never bounce back and return to the workforce. Thank you Pat McCabe OAM President" DVA Budget at a glance - https://www.tpifed.org.au//dva_budget_2020-21_at_a_glance. TPI Rent Assistance - https://www.tpifed.org.au//uploads/2020/10/TPI-Rent-Assist How many other TPIs and Veterans and their families are as outwardly irate as the TPI Federation about this injustice?
07.01.2022 It is with much regret that I have been advised of the passing of our Past-Director, John Poland. John was a TPI Victorian Federation Director for approximately 10 years and contributed much over that time. His friendship and insight were invaluable to all who knew him. John's passing will be felt by many of his friends and colleagues. The TPI Federation and Directors wish to express their deep condolences to John's wife, Barbara, and their families. R.I.P John

06.01.2022 Don’t believe everything you read online. When it comes to advertising health services to veterans and their families, we have strict guidelines in place that ...all allied service providers and third-party marketing organisations we work with must comply with. Be wary of language such as ‘Free to DVA clients’ or ‘Fully funded by DVA’. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. To learn about the funded health services that we provide, visit: https://www.dva.gov.au/health-and-treatment
