20.01.2022 What a great opportunity for skaters in Rising Stars level 2 and above to help coaches learn to coach while improving their own skating skills. You will not be skating with Ally or Kerrie but helping other coaches acquire a higher level accreditation. https://www.skatensw.org.au/events/104516/

19.01.2022 Still waiting, folk! While we are still waiting for an opening date for Menai Indoor Sports Centre, the committee have been busy behind the scenes in preparation for that day. We are please to say that we are a recognised COVID SAFE organisation, having undergone specific training in relation to Covid-19 and will be ready when we get the green light. Stay tuned ...

19.01.2022 Back in March, the club held its AGM, where two of our long serving committee members resigned their positions. Angela has resigned as secretary treasurer... registrar speed coach. Shannon has resigned as president birthday party coordinator school holiday clinic coordinator learn to skate coach disco coordinator She will stay on as social media coordinator for 2020. We thank both ladies for the time, effort and dedication they have volunteered over the last two decades as valued members of the committee, overseeing the transition of the club from its homeless state in the early 2000s to the thriving club it is now. You will notice that this page now has an email button at the top. This, and the private messages on this page, is where all future enquiries should be directed. Angela and Shannon would like to thank all the people who have participated in the programs over the years, whether it be as a casual disco attendee, or a competitive athlete. Theyd also like to thank the coaches who have worked with them to create a great club. Stay safe, everyone.

19.01.2022 The current TPRSC committee Suzy, Dyanne and Sharon on behalf of all club members would like to thank Shannon Busch for all she has done over the years for the club and skaters. Shannon resigned from her position yesterday as social media/ public relations coordinator.

08.01.2022 Sadly we have just had notification that Menai Indoor Sports Centre is leaking and the courts have flooded. We have to cancel tonights session. All skaters registered for classes will get a text message.

07.01.2022 We have received a number of inquiries from very enthusiastic people asking when we are likely to re-open for official training, learn to skate, holding discos and taking bookings for birthday parties. We really miss all these activities and events too! Unfortunately, Menai Indoor Sports Centre is yet to re-open and we currently await advice from Sutherland Council on its proposed date for the re-opening of the centre. So.... at this time we are unable to give a date for our ...return to any activities regrettably. Please be assured that we are working together with Sutherland Council, Skate NSW, NSW Health and the NSW Office of Sport towards putting in place our Clubs COVID Safe/Recovery Return to Sport Policy and Plan, which will include a COVIDSafe Risk Assessment and a COVIDSafe Check List which must then be approved by Skate NSW and Sutherland Council prior to our return to any activities at Menai Indoor Sports Centre once it re-opens. All club activities will need to be undertaken in line with relevant Health Orders, legislation and social distancing rules as are required for indoor sport facilities. We are hopeful, in light of todays announcement made by the NSW Minister for Sport, that we will be able to re-open soon. However, any return to training and social events (including discos) will be subject to the rules and requirements in place at that time, particularly those around social distancing requirements and numbers allowed within indoor sports centres (ie social distancing rules still requiring 4 square metres per person within a building etc) and must be assessed as to what cost impact those restrictions might have on the Club longer term (ie will the number of people allowed at the venue be too low to cover the cost of court hire at the centre etc). Please keep an eye on this page for updates on when Taren Point Roller Skating Club will safely resume official training and social events under COVIDsafe conditions during NSWs recovery phase. Stay safe, keep healthy and be kind. We look forward to seeing you again soon! TPRSC Executive Committee

03.01.2022 RETURN TO SKATING (almost) Though we have no exact date yet, we are getting closer to being able to return to skating. Skate NSW has requested all members over the age of 10 complete the Play By the Rules Covid course and then forward a copy of the course completion page to Skate NSW.... If you have any problems logging into your Skate NSW account please contact the club using the email button at the top of the page and we will be able to help you. If you are not a member, you can still do this mini-course which will undoubtedly be useful regardless of what sport you are associated with or what industry you work in.
