16.01.2022 How Many Calories do I Need? A great question that we get daily from new clients! Above you can see the components of Total Daily Energy expenditure (TDEE) which is the calculation of the total amount of calories expended throughout the day (This will vary day to day too!)... This of course is going to vary HUGELY between individuals which is exactly why you can’t just pull a random meal plan from an online website or from a friend and expect it to work (because it won’t!) Our girls get such killer results because their nutrition is based on scientific calculations personalised to them and their bodies and therefore the results are killer 2200 cals per day might be a calorie DEFICIT for one person, however it may be a calorie SURPLUS for someone else! (One person will reduce body fat on these cals and another will GAIN body fat). For this reason, if you follow a mass produced cookie cutter program the result will be extremely questionable! Simply eating clean does not guarantee any results! Furthermore, IF you do reduce any body fat, chances are you could be in TOO MUCH of a deficit which will in long term cause even MORE weight gain! E.g., following a shake diet and losing 10kg of scale weight then ending up putting 15kg BACK ON because your metabolic rate has now slowed down due to not properly fuelling your body for its requirements. P.S We could cry if we had to eat a low protein, high sugar shake with a garden salad for even one meal! (Nobody is having a good time doing that!) Not to mention all the other very serious health issues that may arise from following a very low calorie diet! Reducing body fat can be done easily, enjoyably and effectively PROVIDING you are following a well written program based on your individual needs created by a QUALIFIED sports nutritionist who has the knowledge and skills to produce it! 14.01.2022 I decided it was time to make a change. Heading into a new year I knew if it didnt do it now, I never would. I achieved all my goals Id set which I wasnt sure Id be able to do. I lost over 15kg, gained the confidence back Id lost a few years ago & I am fitter than Ive ever been. Ive tried it all. Diets, shakes, all different bootcamps but nothing was working. I was always embarrassed exercising around men as I didnt have the confidence, so when I heard about TWTG I... thought it was the perfect opportunity. The trainers are all amazing and so educational, they go above and beyond and are always there when you need. The meal plans are incredible. Who would of thought you could eat what you enjoy and still lose weight. My favourite meal would be a toss up between the breakfast burger or chicken pizzas. Yum! The ladies who train are all different ages, shapes & sizes and all have stories of their own. Some of you may already know Hayley as shes one of Hannahs comp prep girls so shes already a special part of the TWTG community! We are now excited to announce that she has taken on a marketing and admin roll with TWTG!... About Hayley: Howd you get into fitness? I started lifting weights in Highschool and became fascinated by how we sculpt our bodies and minds. Fast forward 7 years and now Im 12 weeks out from my first bodybuilding show! Favourite Thing to Train For sure legs - love me a good set of squats. But hands down a sucker for some heavy deadlifts Favourite Food Right now - everything in sight but Im a big carbs girl. Pasta is a huge one and then anything that resembles desert - donuts, cake. Give me it all! 3 Random Facts I actually speak 3 languages fluently and am learning a fourth! Ive lived in South Africa twice. And I finished my masters degree this year! Why are you excited to start with TWTG? Through my own experience I have become so passionate about helping women find their new lifestyle and goals through nutrition and fitness. 05.01.2022 WHAT A TRANSFORMATION! How incredible is this ladies?! June last year @_tracycrump01_ approached me asking if I thought she was ready for our Strong Squad group (she had previously just been doing group fitness with us) to which I said ABSOLUTELY!... From her very first session she has continued to challenge herself and push herself without fail! A few weeks after starting strong squad, Trace also began personalised Nutrion coaching with me (If you’re not eating the CORRECT cals/macros for YOUR body, results like this are simply not possible). She has since been enjoying so many different and delicious meals along her journey. Some of her fav ingredients to be added to her plans being feta and halloumi (so relatable! ) Our incredible strong squad coaches @renee_stierli_fitness and @wendy_twtg are so insanely proud of this gorgeous lady and everything she has and continues to achieve! Coach Renee messaged me last night expressing how proud she is of Trace. Reading her message and looking at her progress pics brought tears to my eyes Over Christmas she didn’t miss a single session. She stayed focused and worked hard! She continues to push herself in every way and most importantly, she BELIEVES in herself! Just incredible Trace. 02.01.2022 Juice VS: whole Fruit Remember, to reduce body fat you MUST be in a calorie deficit. You probably wouldnt eat 5 oranges in one sitting... however drinking a glass of orange juice is seen as a totally normal and healthy thing to do and is often drunk as a beverage along side an actual food snack.... There is a difference between eating healthy and eating for fat loss! This is a classic example of that! Yes, freshly squeezed juice may be full of great vitamins and therefore classed as healthy however its also very calorie dense! If youre trying to get in your vitamin C, try a glass of water and some sugar free vitamin Cs! This is not to say that you shouldnt have freshly squeezed juice. We promote the fact that its 1000% possible to reduce body fat eating any sort of food! You just need to be aware of how the calories all add up and potentially put you into a calorie SURPLUS. Beverages can be HUGE culprits for majorly increasing your total caloric intake without you even realising! For LESS calories (and so much more protein!) than this glass of orange juice you could have.. 1 x Chobani Fit Yogurt 1 x Fiber One Brownie 150g Strawberries I know what we would prefer!
