21.01.2022 EPS Recycling Recycling turns EPS that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources. There are four main waste reduction options for EPS packaging: Reduce refers to the reduction of natural resources used. By optimising pack design, moulders can reduce EPS usage, thus reducing environmental burden and cost. EPS packaging can be utilized in many ways after its original intended use. As such, they contribute towards protecting valuable resources.:... Re-Use EPS packaging can be re-used as multi-trip packaging, e.g. for the internal transport of partially assembled goods. Another simple re-use of the packaging is to grind it and use it as soil conditioner to improve drainage and aeration. EPS seed and pot-holding trays are often re-used in this way at garden centres. Recycle is the reprocessing of used EPS packaging to make a new material such as hardwood replacement for garden furniture, slate replacement for roofing tiles and new plastics items such as coat hangers, CD and video cases Recover EPS has a very high calorific value, higher than that of coal, and can be safely burnt within energy recovery units, or incinerators, without giving off toxic or environmentally damaging fumes. For some companies it is favorable to introduce a scheme with us to recycle their EPS. Dropped off - businesses and public can drop of their EPS. Collection we will send a truck to collect the material once there is a full lorry load ready. This is taken back to the factory for processing. Small fees may apply. Granulation the EPS is feed into a granulator that chops the material into smaller pieces. Extrusion the material is fed into the Hot Melt where it is melted leaving only plastic in its raw state.

18.01.2022 Scrap Metal Recycling Basic Tools Some basic tools are needed to have on hand at all times while trying to make the most money from scrap. While some of them may be simple, you never know what you may need while scrapping so always be sure to keep them in your toolbox.... Hammer Sometimes you have to knock things out. Screwdriver Computers & other equipment have a lot of screws. Crowbar This can be handy with larger materials. Wrench This can help reach places you normally cant grab. Power Drill Always easy to review screws quickly. WD-40 This is a great tool to have with tough spots and keeping tools protected. See more

10.01.2022 From our friends at iscrap: Types of Stainless Steel & Where To Find Them by Tom Buechel... Types of Stainless Steel ScrapSo we have talked to many people about their scrapping habitsand it always seems that they want to learn, learn, learn more about where to find different types of scrap metals. WellWE DO TOO! One of the harder metals to really figure out is stainless steel. There are so many grades of stainless that it is tough to look and just know what it is. Hell, you may not have ever known that there were different grades before you read the last few sentences. Common Types of Stainless Steel Scrap Before we go into all of the different places that you can find the different grades of stainless steel lets go into the actual types that are out there and some of the most common stainless grades. 303/304 Stainless Steel: This is the most common type of stainless and 90-95% of the time will be the one that you find in your daily scrapping routines. Why are there two numbers for the stainless being either 303 or 304? Well that is a great question. Depending on what the item was being used for you wont know exactly which it was. But both of those metals have similar pricing and are made of similar metal percentages so they can get mixed together in your pile. This type of stainless is what you will find in many household appliances such as grills, the outsides of fridges and ovens, and kitchen tools. Also used in coffee makers, 316 Stainless Steel: This is worth more money then 303/304 because of the higher nickel content inside of it. This stainless is generally used in the medical industry because it has an even higher corrosion rate (corrosion=rust or disintegration) and will last longer in an industry that is all about cleanliness. Very rarely will you find 316 stainless in anything related to consumer products inside of your home. Another common place that 316 stainless is used is in the high temperature aviation industry. They generally spare no expense when it comes to anything related to the military or aviation pieces and 316 is often used because of its durability and resistance to heat.

06.01.2022 HOME >> Market Analysis Of Copper Recycling Present Situation-An Increase Need Of Copper copper-production-distribution... We use copper today more than ever before. According to the annual Metal Stocks in Society Report, developed countries use approximately 140-300 kilograms per capita, with less-developed countries using between 30 and 40 kilograms. Because of this increase in use and drop in global reserves, the price of copper has jumped dramatically over the last decade. Todays copper reserves are still quite large, however due to an increase in use in growing and developing countries around the world, our international reserves will not be able to sustain the current rate of consumption. Beginning in the year 2000, demand jumped by a sizable amount as countries such as China began increasing use in industrial and technological development. The Market Analysis Of Copper Wire Recycling There is a market for recycled copper wire. Metal recycling and salvage companies across the province buy old copper wire and send it for re-refining or smelting. Recycling means less new material is needed for manufacturing and at the same time, it means less copper is being dumped into our landfills. However, some of the old copper wire is covered in insulation which must be removed before the copper wire can be recycled. The insulation can be safely removed by a wire stripping machine or granulated by copper wire granulator. Three Benefits Of Recycling Copper Wire A. Less Landfill costs Copper and copper alloy objects which are not recycled may otherwise be discarded in holes in the ground which is called landfill. These holes are hastily being filled up and, as they become rarer, landfill becomes a very costly option for waste disposal. B. Environmental Protection During mining and refining of copper, dust and waste gases such as sulphur dioxide are formed which may have an injurious effect on the environment. But by using wire recycling machine, there is nearly no harmful gas emitted. C. Energy Saving In order to extract copper from copper ore the energy required is roughly 100GJ/tonne. Recycling copper uses much fewer energy, about 10GJ/tonne, which is only 10% of the energy required for extraction. This energy saving leads to the upkeep of valuable reserves of oil, gas or coal and decreases the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere.

01.01.2022 Over the past five years scrap metal prices have increased considerably, prices are generally recorded by the tonne rather than kilo (kg), however some of them can be sold to scrap yards by the kilo. To ensure that you are getting the proper valuation for your scrap metal you need to ensure that you know your scrap metals grade before taking it to a local vendor. The type of metal that you have will have a range of grades, the higher the grade, the higher the valuation of the... piece of metal. The details which are provided below will guide you in knowing what the different types of scrap metal grades exist: Grade 1 - These types of scrap metal do not have any different alloy types associated with them. Furthermore, in order to be classified as grade 1, the piece of scrap must be of specific dimensions and should not be in any way corroded. Grade 1 scrap metal is generally regarded as being pure. Grade 2 - Contrary to grade 1 examples of scrap, grade 2 pieces consist of alloys in addition to the main material. Similar to grade 1, grade 2 should also not be corroded or mixed with any other non-alloy materials. Other Types - In addition to the above types, sheets and castings are specialist types of scrap that can be worth more than more generic forms of metal. It is worth baring this in mind before taking these pieces to the local scrap yard. Below is a general guide illustrating the typical scrap metal prices you will find for various different materials, for a more exact price, please contact your local scrap yard.. The prices listed below vary somewhat because dealers generally vary from region to region and also the quality of the metal varies a considerable amount too. Metal Type Scrap Metal Prices Australia Copper $4.00 to $6.00 per Kilo Mixed Copper $5.00 to $7.00 per Kilo Copper Wire $1.50 to $2.00 per Kilo Aluminium $0.20 to $1.50 per Kilo Aluminium Cans $0.10 to $0.20 each Clean Brass $1.50 to $2.50 per Kilo Mixed Brass $2.50 to $4.50 per Kilo Stainless Steel $0.75 to $2.00 per Kilo Iron $0.08 to $0.16 per Kilo Titanium $2.80 to $4.00 per Kilo Gold $16.00 to $50.00 per Gram Silver $0.26 to $0.52 per Gram Platinum $30.00 to $50.00 per Gram Lead $0.80 to $2.00 per Kilo Car Battery $5.00 to $10.00 each Truck Battery $7.50 to $15.00 each Clean Radiator $3.00 to $4.00 per Kilo Mixed Radiator $1.50 to $2.50 per Kilo
