06.01.2022 No matter if youre gardening on a tiny patio or an acre or two, there is a mini-greenhouse design that is right for you! Greenhouses are a great way to extend your growing season, AND build your household resilience at the same time. Here's how to get started...

06.01.2022 We're having another Really Really Free Market at Guildford Town Hall on November 29th! The last one was a great success. These are always a great way to meet people, get rid of items you don't need and maybe find some treasures. It's like a big garage sale except everything is free!... Please remember that if you bring items that don't get taken you'll need to take them home again at the end.

06.01.2022 Is the local economy the answer to future community security?

05.01.2022 Residents of rural Wattle Grove, who already had to fight off the City of Kalamunda's attempt to industrialise the area, now have to fight off the Citys radical plan to urbanise the area. The plan will involve forcibly acquiring private residents' land, weakening environmental protections, threatening the destruction of local residents homes, properties, the local environment, habitat and tree canopy and native, endangered, rare and protected flora and fauna. Please consider signing this petition.

05.01.2022 Places still available tomorrow for this workshop! Tuesday, 30 June | 9 10.30am Old Midland Courthouse, Midland

05.01.2022 Last year the Cleanaway facility in South Guildford caught on fire. Approximately 200,000 litres of toxic fire runoff water entered the Swan river estuary. The air smelt toxic. Cleanaway has put in an application to rebuild in the same location, close to residences, 400m from a day care and close to our beautiful Swan river. Transition Town Guildford strongly support recycling but this needs to occur in a safe and appropriate location. For this reason, we strongly object to... Cleanaway rebuilding in this location. Can you spend 2 minutes to email a submission to the State government? Send your submission to [email protected] State your name, address and contact number. If you object, start your email with: "I object to the planned rebuild, Amended License and Works Approval for Cleanaway, 72 Haynes Road, South Guildford because . . . " Here are some points to consider in your submission: Cleanaway has not been afforded any robust environmental assessment and this must occur with the amended license and works permit. Fires will continue to be a risk, and mitigation of such an event is an inadequate planning, health and environmental response. Fires also affect adjacent businesses and have an economic impact on the area. An accidental burning of plastic, batteries and waste oil (as stored on this site) can generate highly toxic, bio-accumulative and persistent pollution that can affect humans and the environment for decades. The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has a responsibility to protect the community and environment from hazardous industries, and those that become hazardous on burning. DWER should reject the this license and works amendment in this location. Planning Policies seek to protect communities but have failed because of the apparent inadequate DWER recommendation and failure to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment. This proposed facility has potential to adversely affect human and environmental health.
