23.01.2022 Last Friday, we proudly hosted a brief CPR info session in support of Restart a Heart Day a global initiative to teach everyone that with your own two hands, you can save a life ! Hosted at the TraumaSim premises, we invited our local neighbours who learnt basic CPR from Jesse McNeilly of Safe Response and our Nola Pearce and then bravely put their new skills to test on The Manniskin, a new innovation to add to the standard Little Anne manikin that brings realism to the tra...ining. It turns out The Manniskin is so realistic we’re not allowed to post the photos and videos online Please check them out here: https://bit.ly/3jmZfOf A huge thanks to everyone that participated We hope to see you, and many more faces next year. #restartaheart #rahd2020 #cpr #realism #simulation #justboobs #censorship #medical #training

07.01.2022 If your mate was bitten by a shark, would you know how to help until emergency services arrived? Sadly, many Australians die from severe blood loss relating to trauma related injuries. Given how adventurous we are but how remote our location is, we’re asking should all Australians learn how to manage massive haemorrhage using tourniquets and haemostatic dressing? Read more via our blog here: https://bit.ly/2TsJsTA... Many thanks to MED Response for including us in this important initiative. Whilst it was filmed back in 2018, it still remains a hot topic & issue.

06.01.2022 Today, we honour the memory of all those who fought for our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. Our thoughts, memories and prayers extend to those that were affected by their loss and we remember their families, friends and mates #lestweforget

06.01.2022 What is simulation and why does it matter? Simulation gives you the opportunity to do it until you can do it right This little video from the University of South Florida explains why simulated role players, or standardarized patients, are critical to experiential learning and how important simulation is to keeping patients safe.... This is why the team at TraumaSim are passionate about realism in training and are working hard to provide trainers and students with medically accurate products to help elevate training standards and improve outcomes for both students and patients. https://vimeo.com/458818996

04.01.2022 Moulage : the art of applying mock or simulated injuries and wounds for the purpose of training emergency response teams and other medical and military personnel.

03.01.2022 Today is #RestartAHeart Day dedicated to providing Australians with the skills to save lives. Did you know that women are less likely to receive CPR from a bystander for fear of injury or litigation ? Let us show you how easy CPR is in this short video and remember, modesty doesn’t matter when a life is at risk. https://bit.ly/31dt3Xf WARNING: video contains BBs - you can thank us later ... And please note that breaths have been demonstrated to the side due to COVID-19 regulations. CPR can still be conducted during these times but should you be concerned with or unwilling to provide breaths, these can be withheld as long as compressions are maintained. Doing something is better than doing nothing at all ! See more
