25.01.2022 We all know we live in paradise and rumour has it that the Gold Coast is going to be full the rafters with Victorians, Sydneysiders and people from Brisbane that usually go overseas for Christmas. So if this year calls for a staycation we need to plan ahead and book our favourite restaurants and plan some activities with friends and family.... Between surfing, mountain biking, boating, eating, drinking hiking, shopping I think we will have plenty to do.

25.01.2022 Just Announced.... Queensland Border to New South Wales will re-open on 01 December. Queensland Border to Victoria will open 01 December as well if they have no new cases tomorrow.... Just in time for Christmas. Oh what a Christmas it will be

23.01.2022 Thank you Townsville for a week! Basketball, basketball and more basketball plus a sunset sail on a yacht that has won the Sydney to Hobart Race....

19.01.2022 #saveaussietourism The tourism industry in Australia has been crippled. We understand and accept the need for international borders to remain closed for now. ... The Australian tourism industry has come together in a call to the nation’s State Premiers and Chief Ministers to reopen domestic borders safely (excluding Victoria) https://saveaustraliantourism.com Tourism operators/Hotels/tours all have COVID Safe Plans in place and are ready to go. #saveaussietourism

18.01.2022 The @australianageofdinosaurs museum near Winton was pretty cool. Who knew that we have so many dinosaurs here 95 million years ago.... it created a family debate, how did they become extinct? Being in the outback means... Emus Crossing.

18.01.2022 The first of many Mums and Kids Getaway. 14 mums and 26 Kids set off to Tangalooma for a 3 day/2 night adventure. From scavenger hunts, quad biking, 4WD sand adventures and pool time; both mums and kids enjoyed time together, meet new friends and spend time with old ones. The perfect start to the school holidays.

18.01.2022 Ok... I’m back! We went to the QLD Outback to test a theory; can you have a short break and experience the Outback. The answer is yes. Yes you can have a 2-3 week road trip; hitch the caravan to the car and explore the Outback in your own time. Or if you short on time, an easy flight from Brisbane to Longreach lands you in the heart of the Outback in just 2 hours. Four days allows you to explore Longreach and Winton, homes to Qantas, Dinosaurs, cool pubs and Waltzing Matilda.... You can incorporate a bit of history, Aussie culture and now also stay at 4 star or Glamping accomodation. Throw in a sunset cruise and dinner with a show.... you have all basis covered. Perfect for families, couples or friends. DM to start planning your Outback adventure

18.01.2022 Byron is back in the bubble from today @zak.franklin #byronbay

14.01.2022 #TBT to an Ansett inflight bar menu from the early 1970’s. Who remembers paying these prices for drinks?

13.01.2022 We enjoyed a few afternoon beers at the iconic North Gregory Hotel in Winton. This is the birthplace of the song Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Patterson. It was first performed right here in 1895. We enjoyed listening to the bush poet Gregory North (no relation to the pub) who told Banjo’s story through his poems, and also sang Waltzing Matilda as it was performed back in 1895. A perfect way to celebrate eased restrictions at pubs on Queensland

08.01.2022 Please read 19 Years ago I was working at STA Travel in New Mexico, USA. I was dealing in shock of the aftermath of 9/11. Flights were grounded, trips were cancelled and people were urgently trying to get home. Airlines suffered massive losses and we lost ANSETT. ... Then... Low Cost airlines started which challenged the way full service airlines operated. We saw the development of lie-flat beds in business class; enhanced flight entertainment and better food offerings as a way to differentiate. Airports were redesigned to enhance security with easier check in processes. 9/11 changed the way people travelled and we benefited from some positive transformations. We will travel again. Things may look a little different at first but our waterways will be clear, wildlife will flourish and there will be less mass tourism; making way for more local and authentic experiences. The future will be bright @cathyfinchphotography

07.01.2022 So we have snuck off to the QLD outback to check it out. Checked out dinosaur bones, QLD Aussie pubs and of course the Qantas museum. My favourite part is our happy hour Outback Style @saltbushretreat
