23.01.2022 We are proud to display this long-term reminder of the valuable contribution of our Artist in Residence; Sally Parnis has made to the Wilderness community and student learning. The oil painting titled 'Stay Safe Wilderness School', features current students safely wrapped in bunting as they are working the art classroom, during a year we will never forget. The purchase of this work, created during her residency this year is an exciting addition to the Art Centre that builds on the tapestry of our proud history.

22.01.2022 After recording a showstopping Christmas Concert this morning for our families, our Annie and Mamie girls were delighted to see a special visitor. Santa had followed their map and finally arrived at the ELC! There was plenty of excitement and smiles as we celebrated a year of growth and achievement for our very special little students.

22.01.2022 The Year 6s have gone wild during their week-long minimester to polish their musical production of the ‘The Jungle Book’. The three Year 6 classes have been working on this production all year under the skilful direction of their teacher, Ms Jessica Foster, and they are now ready to roar! ‘The Jungle Book’ will be performed tonight, Thursday night as well as Friday afternoon in Newman Theatre. Good luck girls, we know you will be amazing!

21.01.2022 As Christmas time draws closer, our ELC girls have been wondering how Santa will know exactly where to deliver their presents. They decided a map was what he needed to find them at the Mamie House and quickly got to work! Careful consideration was given to how each space would be represented, and the landmarks Santa might see on his way. They have written a formal invitation for Santa to visit and are eagerly awaiting his arrival!

20.01.2022 Our Year 9 Minimester provided a week-long workshop that followed the theme 'Prism': When experiences pass through us, they are refracted to create stories of different colours. The Grand Story Slam was our final event for the week where students and staff presented five-minute stories that coloured the person they have become. Artwork was also created live before the audience - as inspiration was taken from our brilliant speakers and their moving life experiences.

18.01.2022 We had an excited group of Year 9 students depart for the last REALISE program for the year this week. The girls started the program with a Welcome to Country at Parnka Point with Rita Lindsay. Recently featured in the Advertiser Weekender, our REALISE program is an incredible experience for our girls. We can't wait to see them back here in a few weeks and hear all about it.

16.01.2022 The Wilderness Christmas Tree has arrived! We are so excited to have it grace Memorial Hall Lawn as we embrace the long-awaited holiday season and celebrate all the things we are grateful for in a year like no other. Thank you so much to the Petrucco family who continue to honour this tradition by kindly donating this generous gift to our community.

15.01.2022 On Tuesday 27 October, invited guests exhibited our Stage 2 Art students work at the official opening of their 'Together' exhibition. 2019 Wilderness graduate, Isabel Emmett spoke beautifully about the work and acknowledged the dedication and effort the girls had shown in creating a highly personal collection of diverse work.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 5 student, Annika Ganesh who has been awarded first place in the SA Young Composers Award by the Australian Society for Music Education (ASME). The Award aims to encourage and develop musical composition while producing a body of new music designed specifically for use in schools. Annika was awarded this prize in the ‘Composers in Schools R-7’ category for her brilliant piece ‘The Cloud Forests’. What a wonderful way to end the year!

09.01.2022 We have once again witnessed the Wilderness community pull together, and we could not be prouder of the teamwork and support from each and every one of you. We are facing this situation together, and we are overcoming it together. Over the next few days, stay safe and stay strong.

09.01.2022 This morning our Reception students received a visit from Animal Capers who brought a range of interesting animals for the girls to meet. They loved every minute of the Science Incursion and learning about all the different creatures.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to our Senior Chess team who won the SA Secondary Girls’ Final, soundly defeating Walford, St Peters’ Girls and Immanuel College with 11.5 out of a potential maximum of 12 points. We are excited to announce that Wilderness will represent SA in the Secondary Girls Division at the Australian Schools’ Teams Chess Online Championships in December.

08.01.2022 Looking back at the year that was! Our girls had a beautiful evening celebrating their Valedictory Dinner at Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 23 October. 01.01.2022 We haven’t been able to connect in person with our old scholars much this year, so having them visit this morning for a tour of our Learning Commons and morning tea was extra special. Not even the rain could ruin the occasion.

01.01.2022 Our Wilderness girls have walked out the gates for the final school day of 2020. What a year it has been! A year of learning about courage, challenges and overcoming any obstacle in our way. We wish all families a happy and safe holiday break spent with those who mean the most to them.

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 4 student Isla Balestrin for her photography project that was highly commended by judges of the 2020 SASTA Oliphant Science Awards. Isla captured 'Life in the Wetlands' by taking brilliant photographs of the plants and wildlife that surrounded her. We look forward to seeing more of her creative photography in the science world!
