25.01.2022 This comment about a recent podcast interview with Too Peas In A Podcast makes me so happy. So excited to win someone over with my positivity.

22.01.2022 Such a lovely description of The Parenting Spectrum by Autism Camp Australia CEO Rachel Rowe. I'm just so happy that it's made and continues to make such a difference in the lives of autistic people and their families.

19.01.2022 Recently I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Kate and Mandy, the hosts of one of the coolest podcasts in Australia, Too Peas In A Podcast. It was such an incredible experience. Not only are Kate and Mandy amazing parents, they're so supportive to each other and the wider community, they are change makers beyond words and both have children who have disabilities. But that's not all, they were recently named as finalists for the Victorian Australian of the Year. Incredibl...e women that I just love listening to. I hope you enjoy our chat. Real, raw and vulnerable are a few words that come to mind. Please follow them, tell your friends, and share the love

10.01.2022 Happy World Teacher's Day Thank you, from Travis Saunders I would like to thank all of the teachers, support staff and members of the school community that work tirelessly day in day out to provide opportunities for our children. ... It's been such a huge year and I'm sure I speak for so many children and parents when I reflect on the difference you make to all of our lives. I commend you for your dedication, resilience and empathy towards others during such an extraordinary year. Your adaptability, compassion, and support for each other and our children is beyond words, especially when many of you had to come to terms with a new online homeschooling curriculum, teaching your own children, working from home, looking after extended families and loved ones, as well as trying to get through everyday life. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2019, there were: 3,948,811 students enrolled in 9,503 schools and 288,294 full-time equivalent (FTE) teaching staff in Australian schools That's a lot of incredible people connecting with and supporting our children to succeed. I'm so lucky to come from a family of educators. My sister is a teacher. My brother in law is a teacher. My mum taught for more than 30 years. And now my niece has just enrolled into a Masters of Education. I’ve spent more than 20 years teaching in classrooms and I'm lucky enough to have taught alongside so many amazing people who change lives daily. I'm also lucky enough to have supported students, parents and teachers all over Australia as an education consultant. Finally, I'd like to give a very special shout out to those educators that are empowering others and creating a cultural shift at their school and in the community by supporting children with disabilities to learn, feel safe, empowered, happy, accommodated, included, independent, connected and have choice and control over their lives. You are helping create a society where individuals, workplaces and communities value each other, value difference, recognise untapped talent and strengths and open their minds to all the wonderful and amazing things people with disabilities have always known they can do. You are not just teachers. You are guides and mentors and facilitators of growth and self belief. So when that school bell rings at 3:00pm today, go and celebrate, with your mates. It must be beer o'clock somewhere. You absolutely deserve it. (PS. Chocolate is a great substitute for celebration, as is wine, but going home and doing the dishes is not)
