23.01.2022 * REFRESHMENTS & TOILETS * Our wonderful KVRP volunteers will be providing refreshments including water, tea, soup, sweets and fruit for Trekkers doing the 36km and 50km course - these will be available at Checkpoint 3 "Meryla Pass", Checkpoint 4 "Jacks Corner" (end of the 36km course) and the final 50km checkpoint at "Rabbits Flat". Checkpoint 2 is Fitzroy Falls - the end of the 14km course. There is a cafe and general store here for anyone needing to grab some supplies befo...re Trekking onwards. There will be toilets available at every checkpoint. Check out the course map below! And for a full course description visit http://www.kvrp.net.au/the-trek-route-and-map/

20.01.2022 * UPDATE TO CHECKPOINT 2 - FITZROY FALLS * We've been advised that unfortunately the cafe at Fitzroy Falls will still be closed for renovations this Saturday, HOWEVER a coffee cart will be available so you can still get your fix :). AND we'll be providing free soup, bread, fruit, muffins and biscuits to hungry Trekkers :).... A free shuttle bus will depart Fitzroy Falls every hour to transport 14km Trekkers back to their cars.

17.01.2022 * * 2 DAYS TO GO * * It is LITERALLY a matter of hours now before we'll all be heading off on the Trek for Timor through the magnificent Kangaroo Valley. WHO'S EXCITED?!?!?!????

16.01.2022 * * WHAT ABOUT MY CAR??? * * One of the most frequently asked questions we're getting from Trekkers is about getting back to your cars at the start of the Trek! For the 14km Trekkers, there is a shuttle bus running on the hour from Fitzroy Falls returning people to their cars parked in the paddock adjacent to the start (at McPhails Trail). There's a lovely cafe at Fitzroy Falls, so you can enjoy a cuppa (and a rest!) while you wait for the shuttle :).... For 36km and 50 km trekkers without a support crew (please note: we encourage all these teams to have a support crew!!!) members of the KVRP team will give you a lift back to the start once you've completed the course. If you have any questions please pop them in the comments below, PM us or you can email [email protected].

13.01.2022 These gorgeous, smiling faces are just some of the students from Timor Leste we've helped so far, with funds raised through previous Treks. These students, and many others, now have the opportunity to continue their tertiary studies, with a view to ending the poverty cycle their communities have been trapped in. Please sponsor an individual or team to complete the 50km Trek for Timor through Kangaroo Valley on Saturday 14th September, 2019, to help us to raise further funds f...or our ongoing student housing program. Visit www.kvrp.net.au/sponsorship and enter your name, email address and phone number, then search for the team or individual you'd like to sponsor. Donations can be made via Paypal or Direct Deposit. If you don't know anyone doing the Trek this year you can simply make a general donation to KVRP. All donations over $2AUD are tax deductible. Thank you!

11.01.2022 IT'S TOMORROW PEOPLE!!! If you're unsure of any of the procedures for tomorrow, now is the time to ask!! Have a great night's sleep tonight, and we'll see you in the morning as we Trek for Timor!!

11.01.2022 It may be 20 years since Timor Leste achieved independence from Indonesia, but unfortunately half the population lives below the poverty line and most have limited education opportunities. In fact, 40% of the East Timorese population is illiterate. This is why the Trek for Timor is such an important cause - the funds you raise through sponsorship will go towards student housing and scholarships for young East Timorese people, and help to break the cycle of poverty. Visit the KVRP website to learn more about where your sponsorship money will go, and how funds raised through previous Treks have assisted young East Timorese people to further their education.

08.01.2022 * * F U N D R A I S I N G * * How is your team's fundraising going? Check out our Top Ten fundraising teams below (as of 6 Sept). To see how your team is going visit: www.kvrp.net.au/trek/public_summary.php.... Remember, the Trek for Timor is all about raising funds for disadvantaged communities in Timor Leste, with funds raised from this year's Trek going towards the provision of student housing and scholarships for young East Timorese people to continue their education. Our goal is for every Trekker to raise at least $200. Make sure you let all of your friends and family know that they can make donations directly through the website, or alternatively donate cash directly to you (and then you make a cash deposit into the KVRP account on behalf of your team). We also accept cheques!! All details here https://www.kvrp.net.au/sponsorship/ Let's see how much we can all raise this year!!
