We welcome both men and women to apply for these positions a...nd successful applicants will be required to either have, or apply for a blue card allowing them to work with children. EXCURSION EDUCATOR We endeavour to set a high standard in our excursion team giving schools and kindy's a great educational and fun day on the farm. This has been validated by the significant growth we've seen in the number of schools that now come to us regularly each year. Our excursion educators work as a team - we usually require three to four staff per excursion day. The requirement will be 4-12 hours per week, between the hours of 10am and 2pm on a week day. The person applying for this job: * should have a love for animals - a working knowledge and comfort around horses is highly desirable. * must have life skills and at least some experience in the education or childcare/kindergarten sector. * must be physically fit and able, as you will need to be able to walk around the farm for about 3 hours during the day. * must be a good communicator and have the personality to comfortably retain the attention of a group of 20 children at a time. * will receive on the job training. NDIS FACILITATOR Trevena Glen has become very popular for people with all types of disabilities and a wide range of ages to come and interact and experience the joy our animals can offer as part of our NDIS program. We offer 2hr time slots for a participant and carer to visit, facilitated by one of our staff. Many NDIS participants come for regular (weekly/fortnighly) sessions, allowing for a meaningful friendship to develop between the facilitator and participant. Sessions may be held at various times during the day on week days as well as Saturdays. The person applying for this job: * should have a passion to share our animals with others as a means of positive therapy. * must be comfortable interacting with people having a wide range of social and communication abilities. * must be confident to communicate well with carers, parents, and support coordinators. * should be able to creatively develop plans to help each NDIS participant make progress in meeting their goals in the context of our farm environment. * should have some experience with horses (can saddle and lead confidently) - or are eager to learn but have never had the opportunity - as the use of horses often play a significant role in this program. * will receive on the job training.

Trevena Glen Farm provides horse riding lessons to children whom have various riding abilities (beginners up to intermediate riders) with our teaching style being based on dressage principles. You will have access to our 40x20m Arena, Round Yard and all riding/teaching equipment and resources. Ideally the successful candidate will possess the followi...ng: High level of riding ability (you will need to demonstrate your own riding abilities) and be willing to continue taking weekly riding lessons with either your instructor or ours Experience in working and communicating with children Provide practical examples of your proactive safety approach and attitude Reliable, teachable, hard working and must be a team player Hold a Blue Card (can apply for this with us) and Senior First Aid Certificate Willingness to coach students with varied riding abilities and ages Be available to work from 3pm-8pm Mon-Friday and/or Saturday 7am-11pm See more
