23.01.2022 Last race for the girls with mixed results in very hot conditions. Bree had another good swim with Ellie not too far behind. Bree and Ellie sat in the front pack however Bree had a unfortunate crash (not bad) and eventually withdrew as Ellie hung on for the 20k with a consistent ride. Tilly drove the 3rd pack hard to catch the 2nd pack which had Sammy in it. Giz unfortunately didnt have a strong bike and lost a lot of ground. Onto the run and Ellie ran a solid 18min as did ...Gizelde but she had too much ground to make up. Tilly is coming into some form running a low 19 with Sammy sub 20. All raced well and very proud of these girls as they were all very competitive. Results Ellie Hoitink - 7th Tilly Offord - 17th Sammy Whitting - 19th Gizelde Strauss - 29th

23.01.2022 Well done to the girls today in the final of the ETU Tiszaujvaros Junior Euro Cup. As always a strong field with the girls having nothing to lose and more to gain from racing at this level. A big schedule as this was their 4th race in 4 weeks and all performed well. Ellie finished 13th, Bree 17th, Sammy 20th and Tilly 24th. A couple of days off now as we head back to our base camp to prepare for our last race in Tabor, Czech Republic. First we head back to Budapest then Prague for some R&R. Well done girls super proud of you all. Including Giz who unfortunately crashed out in Semi but we know you would have been there in the final Giz.

22.01.2022 A easy day of training allowed the team to duck over to Cologne, Germany for lunch and a quick look around.

22.01.2022 It is always good when you get an opportunity to train with some of the best in the sport. Our girls will train with ITU elite senior and junior athletes from Netherlands, Canada, USA and Australia over the coming weeks including Erin Densham, Kristen Kasper and Tyler Mislawchuck to name a few. Around 40 at this mornings swim session.

20.01.2022 Best of luck to the TAA girls racing Holten tomorrow. Gizelde and Tilly racing European Junior Cup and Bree, Sammy and Ellie racing European Premium Cup. Again two transitions and a fast and technical bike course. Atmosphere is going to be awesome

11.01.2022 Triathlon Abroad Australia (TAA) - Expressions of Interest 2019 Europe If you are an international or Australian elite junior/U23 and would like the opportunity to train and race in Europe with one of Australias top triathlon coaches then Team TAA is keen to hear from you. Athletes interested in racing in Europe need to be competitive at the Australian Elite Junior/U23 level and/or have previously raced in Europe or Asia.... Limited spots available for male/female athletes with some spots filled already. Time of year and race schedules to be confirmed and confirmation of TAA 2019 proceeding will be advised to successful athletes in December 2018. 11.01.2022 Holten Junior and Premium Cup complete with mixed results. What a crazy day. Started with an email advising that Bree was removed from start list - dealt with that thanks to a some help from Kat and Deb back in Oz. Then Bree had a mechanical prior to race so Coach was frantically getting that fixed and was able to get back to get into T1 with 5min to spare. Ellie had a flat prior to race, that was fixed. Then during Premium Cup race after good swims by Bree and Ellie saw them... both in good positions. Sammy soon joined the girls after 2k on the bike. Then Ellie had a mechanical on the hill losing chain plus a little additional damage forcing her out of the race, Bree then lost her chain after a temporary fix on her bike also forcing her out of the race. So it was down to Sammy to fly the flag did that well having a solid performance to finish 27th. Giz and Tilly both had great races with Giz producing 6min PB from 2 years ago to finish 26th and Tilly ticking boxes to finish 28th. Good day and not so good but that is how the cookie crumbles. 10.01.2022 An early start for the team as we knocked out a short brick before leaving Nuremberg for a quick stop in Vienna, Austria which was beautiful. Will have to go back one day and then the fun of unpacking again. All part of the journey. Tomorrow onto Tizzy.

09.01.2022 Day 3 in the Netherlands and a great morning with Jono Halls squad in Heinsburg sportzcentrum, Germany. Awesome location for open water swimming with a 3k path around the lake to run on. Tough session girls but you did well. Add on a nice arvo spin at the famous Tom Dumoulin Bike Park and the day was done. Off to Wuustwezel, Belgium today for the girls first Euro Cup event.

08.01.2022 Great session today with the Dutch team with a long ride out to an awesome lake only used for divers and the Dutch tri team. Lucky escape in the return ride with a commuter crashing in front of the whole squad. A few of us went down but all okay.

08.01.2022 After a long day via car, train, plane, van, Team TAA made it to Tabor, Czech Republic. Beautiful little town which we will explore more tomorrow out on the bike, mainly to work off the dessert . Going to be a super weekend with these girls.

07.01.2022 Great racing today in the Tizzy Euro Junior Cup for our Aussie TAA girls with Ellie, Sammy, Bree and Tilly making the Junior Women final. All racing comfortable to make final. Unfortunately Gizelde crashed out and after been check over by hospital all is good and will be good to go for Tabor. TAA will be live from 9pm AEST. Result SM1 Ellie Hoitink - 5th Sammy Whitting - 8th... Bree Thistlewait - 10th Result SM2 Tilly Offord - 14th

07.01.2022 Team TAAs final journey to Tabor, Czech Republic for the final race. A big thanks to Simon our team mechanic for assisting us while in Watersley. This guy has to be the best mechanic I have ever come across, hence why he is Team Sunwebs guru. Cheers Simon. Oh and thank god for wifi at train station. God forbid they had to talk to each other

05.01.2022 So this is how Team TAA role. A good little interval session and finishing it off with some cross training. These guys wont be signing up for Ninja Warrior any time soon, maybe Alex.

03.01.2022 Best of luck to these 4 going into the ETU Tiszaujvaros Junior Euro Cup final tomorrow. Live streaming thru TAA Facebook page at 9pm AEST.

03.01.2022 Race 2 done and dusted with the girls first ever European Cup Complete. Bree had a fantastic swim coming out top 10 while the other girls didnt quite have the swim they needed. All road strong with Bree exiting T2 in the front pack and Ellie and Sammy in the chase pack but 1.30 down after lap 2 on the bike. Giz and Tilly and a Dutch girl lost ground on the two larger packs which made it hard from then on. Ellie had a great run to close the gap to Bree but it wasnt enough with Bree finishing a well-deserved 21st position while Ellie was 25th, Sammy also ran strong to finish 32nd, Gizelde 36th and Tilly 37th, both battling it out on the run. Kudos to Tilly for hanging in there, still battling a slight cold. Good job girls and a few ticks in the box. Next stop Holten Premium Cup and Junior Cup.
