16.01.2022 The crew were completely shocked to see what was over the small ridge that blocked our sight. The endless view towards the horizon of dry, dusty and scorched farmland. Two years without winter crops and stock feed is 2 years too long. Try going 2 years without your current salary and see how you end up! They all put on a brave and optimistic face, holding onto their faith. Please pray for a soaking mm of rain for our farmers; the backbone of our country. They deserve every bit! 13.01.2022 The last of the Drought crew spent a well-deserved down time to visit the nearest town, Burren Junction. Located seven and a half hours drive north west of Sydney, the town boast a population of 276. Known for wheat & cotton farming, it also has sheep & cattle stocks. Interesting, the local hotel has yummy tasty fresh meals. But more importantly was the Artesian Springs hot pool! The bore pool is hot mineral water that is floodlit to provide day and night bathing. Well worth the trip and a sensational highlight for stargazing nights!

13.01.2022 This is Ronda, a 14 month old orphan Wombat being rehabilitated at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Brighton, 25 minutes drive north of Hobart. She was saved by a passerby when her mother was killed on the roadside, and was seen trying to get back into her mum’s pouch. Fortunately the staff and volunteers at Bonorong rescue centre offer rehabilitation, close-up viewing of endangered native wildlife and have guided tours. They also are rehabilitating Tasmanian Devils. Once Ronda... reaches adulthood, she will have a supervised release back into her habitat. I appreciate the effort the staff perform and happy to give them a plug anytime. Next time you get to Tasmania, pay them a visit. Don’t forget to say hello to Fred, the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo who received his letter from the Queen for being 100!
