24.01.2022 Ianish Luximon made the most of his opportunity to represent Tasmania in the 2020 National Apprentice Riders Series by winning the heat aboard Queens Needs in ...Hobart yesterday. Luximon, who is indentured to Adam Trinder, has been riding in the state for three months but had been unable to land a winner but he will long remember his first in the state. The Mauritius-born rider settled Queens Needs ($12.00) just worse than midfield and one-off with cover and he waited until the right moment to send her scurrying around the field to stake her claim. She hit the front half-way up the home straight and, under instructions from trainer Scott Brunton, he rode her out hands and heels without using the persuader. Luximon, 22, was understandably elated after the race. I am so thrilled that my first winner here in Tasmania was in this National series race, Luximon said. I came here to Tasmania in December last year and everyone has been so helpful, and it is great that I have finally won a race. Adam Trinder has been great as has his father Michael Trinder as they have both helped me enormously and the state jockey coach Stephen Maskiell also has helped make me a better rider. The win spurred the talented young rider on to notch his second win with another heady ride to secure victory for the John Blacker-trained Silver Road. ($5.00) in a benchmark 66 over 1600 metres. Luximons win has Tasmania at the top of the leaderboard having earned the maximum seven points. This is the first year that riders from Singapore and New Zealand have been invited to compete, although NZ opted not to send a rider for the first heat in Tasmania. Points are allocated in each heat with seven for first, five for second, three for third and two for fourth with one point allocated for unplaced runners. The state with the highest number of points after five heats is declared the winner. The series comprises five heats with Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia each to host a heat in the coming weeks. Scarlet So will represent Tasmania in Victoria and Queensland, Peter Lui will wear the Tasmanian colours in South Australia and former leading Tasmanian apprentice Chris Graham will represent Tasmania in WA as he now resides in that state.
23.01.2022 Treble for the stable and Happy Birthday Samuel Trinder ! The stables terrific run of late continued today with a treble at Launceston and all eight horses running well. It was great to see Vivilici (3f Needs Further x Why For) return to her Tasmanian two-year-old form from last season breaking through for her maiden win and picking up a $20,000 Tasbred bonus for connections. ... Congratulations to Prime Thoroughbreds and the ownership group. The filly was a Tasmanian Yearling Sale purchase by Prime Thoroughbreds from the draft of Armidale Stud. Goodness Gracie (4yoM Puissance De Lune x Had Every Chance) was on the end of a Brendon McCoull special appreciating the step up to 1600m winning the Buckby MDN/CL1. Congratulations to connections including breeder and part owner Geoff Watson & Jenny Watson, Earl Sakareassen and A.J Trinder. Tough Boy (4g Tough Speed x Royal Beluga) brought up back to back wins and rounded out the treble scoring a tough win in the Ladbokes Class 3 Handicap. Congratulations to the owners Tom Edwards, Bob Webb and John Quill and thanks to Brendon McCoull who has now won on eight of his last thirteen rides for the stable. And another big shout out to the team at home for their continued hard work and Happy 12th Birthday to Samuel Trinder. #TrinderRacing #TeamTrinder
22.01.2022 Double for the stable as McCoull shows he is still at the top of his trade! Nice wins by two very progressive horses tonight at different stages of their careers at Launceston. Wardell (4g Clangalang x Florian) improved on his debut performance with an impressive victory in Race 2 the Ladbrokes maiden over 1400m. ... After jumping away a little slow from the barrier jockey Brendon McCoull was able to muster speed and put #Gus in a prominent position just behind the speed, one off the fence. With 350m to go Brendon was able to cross over the heels and the gelding let down strongly over the concluding stages to score a convincing win. Congratulations to patient owners Deb Thompson & Allan Howard who also pick up a $20,000k #Tasbred bonus. The gelding is a full brother to former stakes performed galloper Royal Rapture. Easy Road (4g Super Easy x Ormond Road) made it back to back wins with an impressive win in the BM66 over 1200m winning in convincing style by 4 lengths. With top weight of 61.5kgs jockey Brendon McCoull was able to position the gelding outside the leader and he was dominate over the concluding stages. #Jeff has now won 5 races from 11 starts. Thanks to Brendon McCoull & congratulations to connections. It was a night that could have been as we also saddled up three runner ups (Supalopo, Dusty Joe and Our Shinkansen and Goodness Gracie ran fourth. Big thanks to the team for their continued hard work. #TrinderRacing
22.01.2022 Double for the stable at Launceston. Our Shinkansen (4M Bullet Train x Hitchhike) resumed and was very impressive breaking though for win number one in the Maiden over 1200m. The ever consistent Easy Road (4G Super Easy x Ormond Road) also resumed from a spell bringing up win number four from ten starts in the BM66 over 1200m. ... Thanks to Ismail Toker for two patient rides. Congratulations to connections of both horses. Happy owners of Easy Road #TrinderRacing

22.01.2022 "Were very frustrated at the moment." Adam Trinder explains his frustration with the current situation of Tasmanian Racing.
22.01.2022 We were delighted to assist in obtaining the Alpine Eagle x Royal Beluga Colt from the Tasmanian Magic Millions Sale for the Alpine Eagle Syndicate. Great initiative bringing 16 new owners to racing for the first time with four existing owners. There were a few nervous lads on sale day but it all worked out for the group and they got the one they wanted. Well done to Rohan, Shaun and Willba for getting it up and running . Trinder Racing are looking forward to working with a great group of people. Robyn Whishaw

20.01.2022 Gutsy win by 3YO filly Mystical Beauty (Dissident x Rap Tale) in the Kings Meadows Rotary Club Maiden tonight at Launceston over 1400 Metres. After jumping well from the second widest gate (13), jockey Bulent Muchu was able to muster enough early speed to slot into the one out one back position at the 1100m mark. The speed really came on with 600m to go and when the gap opened on the home turn the filly was gallant to the line. The filly has shown good ability at home and it ...was great to see the filly deliver a win in for loyal stable owner Wayne Roser. The stable looks forward to her getting out in trip over the carnival. Congratulations Wayne It was nearly an even bigger night for Wayne, with Mystical Pursuit (Needs Further x Oh So Gold) showing she is back to her best form with a gallant 2nd in the Listed Southern Cross Feeds Conquering Stakes over 1400m. The mare was given a lovely ride by Brendon McCoull and was just run down over the concluding stages by Toorak Affair (M.S Trinder & A Darmanin). Clifton Danseur - Ladbrokes Maiden (1200m) and The Risk Factor - Horseopedics Come Racing MDN/CL1 (2100m) were both a touch unlucky in their respective races when runners-up and both are close to a breakthrough win. #TrinderRacing

20.01.2022 7 runners at Devonport today for Trinder Racing: R2 12.45 Cheeky One, Tassie Miss R4 1.55 Michbar, Silkstone R5 2.30 Distanza... R6 3.10 Magic Waler R7 3.45 Sanction King Hopefully a winner or two in there. Good luck to everyone involved!
19.01.2022 The stables good form in October continued into November last night with impressive wins by Distanza and Tough Boy. Distanza (3yoG Needs Further x Grisbi) was on debut in the Nextra Kings Meadows Newsagency Maiden over 1220m. After drawing date one, leading rider Brendon McCoull was able to position the gelding just behind the leader. After looking like he would be held up behind Kohima, Brendon was able to obtain a tight run to the outside of the leader entering the home st...raight and was able to hold off a fast finishing Skilendra. Congratulations to the very patient ownership group. Connections also collected a $20,000 #TASBRED bonus for debut win. Tough Boy (4yoG Tough Speed x Royal Beluga) appreciated the return to the grass bringing up a double for the stable with a tough win in the Examiner BM66 over 1220m beating stablemate Silkstone. Again, superbly ridden by Brendon he was able to stalk a solid tempo and commenced a long-sustained run to beat his honest stable mate Silkstone (also given a great ride by Ianish). Congratulations to owners Tom Edwards, Bob Webb and John Quill and thanks to Brendon McCoull for riding a double for the stable. Our last 10 runners have resulted in four wins, four seconds a 4th and a Mystic Journeys unlucky 7th in the Gr.1 Empire Rose. Big thanks to the team who keep doing the hard yards. #TrinderRacing

15.01.2022 Banner Day for Byrne Burke Stable apprentice Erica Byrne Burke had a day she won’t forget for Trinder Racing on Sunday, riding the first two winners in her career to provide the stable with a winning double. Her first winner - at only her fourth career ride - came aboard the consistent sprinter Silkstone (6g Equiano x Silkstone Special) who was too strong for his stablemate Michbar in the Tasmanian Horse Transport Benchmark 66 over 1150m.... The gelding known as #Sam found the lead quite easily from his inside draw and Byrne Burke set a comfortable tempo in front. This allowed him to race without pressure, a length clear of his opposition in the run, and held that break when he led them into the straight. Michbar got clear in plenty of time to challenge but Silkstone stayed on strongly under hands and heels riding to notch his 6th career win. His overall time stacked up well on the day - he ran less than 2 lengths slower than the Open race over the same trip, but faster than the other two races on the program. We congratulate his owner Jan Hagg for the horse's 4th win here in Tasmania, and a big well done to Erica on her first ever winner in the saddle. Byrne Burke didn’t have to wait too long for her second winner, coming in the Nova Design and Print Benchmark 78 over 1350m on stable stalwart Sanction King (5g Reward For Effort x Zillion Roses). Sent out an easing favourite off some consistent performances this preparation, #Roy didn’t begin overly well and as a result settled just behind the speed. When the pace picked up over 800m from home he actually drifted back to last but had cover in the running line and enjoyed a nice trail into the race on the back of talented mare Galway Girl. Byrne Burke angled the gelding to the outside in the straight and again stuck to hands and heels riding, which the horse clearly responded well to. He flashed down the middle in the 5th fastest last 600m of the day and accounted for Galway Girl just before the finishing post with a well timed ride that belied Byrne Burke’s relative inexperience in the saddle. The overall time was solid for this grade and considerably faster than the maiden run over the same distance. Congratulations go to owner breeders Amanda and Vu Tu, and again to Erica on her successful day for the stable. #TrinderRacing #TeamTrinder
15.01.2022 We started off the new season the right way with a double Devonport. Michbar (3G Whittington x Grey Gem) did it the tough way from the wide barrier but was too strong over the concluding stages to score a gallant win and bring up the stables first winner for the year in the @ladbrokescomau 3YO maiden. #Mitch Congratulations to owners Barry & Michele Diprose and stable apprentice Thomas Doyle.... https://tasracing.com.au//02082020-thoroughbreds-devonport Warrior Prince (3G Artie Schiller x Typhoon Tilly resumed in the Class 1 over 1009m against the older horses and scored a tough win in the last few strides under vigorous riding from David Pires. The gelding will be better suited over more ground but todays win indicated that #Toby has come back in great order. Congratulations to owner Wayne Roser https://tasracing.com.au//02082020-thoroughbreds-devonport Special Moment again ran well and she will continue to be competitive especially when we get over longer trips. #TrinderRacing
15.01.2022 Philip Bingleys decision to dabble in thoroughbred breeding has yielded a nice return for the Bridport-based builder, with four-year-old Dusty Joe delivering n...ot only his first winner as a breeder, but the win tipped in an additional $20,000 TASBRED bonus. It was on a bit of a whim that Bingley, whose family had been involved with horses in some form or another for all his life, decided to take on a broodmare called Shasta around five years ago. Dusty Joes trainer Adam Trinder and the owners were rewarded for their patience when the lightly raced gelding scored an impressive all-the-way win in a maiden over 1350m in Devonport last Sunday. With Troy Baker in the saddle, Dusty Joe began brilliantly to lead and after being rated superbly, the gelded son of Tough Speed left his rivals in his wake when the rider asked for an effort in the home straight. Dusty Joe was having his second start this time in and improved greatly on his first-up effort, but it was expected, according to his trainer. This is a very progressive horse that looks set to win his share of races, Trinder said. We exposed him twice last preparation over 1350m, but he wasnt quite ready and this time around we ran him over the shorter journey first-up and that didnt quite work out, although he still hit the line with good enthusiasm. He stepped a lot better this time and with a good senior rider on he was able to control the race and he was lovely and strong to the line. He is still a little bit green and timid, but his focus is becoming better, so I would expect him to win his share of races. The broodmare Shasta was an unraced sister to the dam of Group 1 winner Danglissa (Danzero) and when she landed in Philip Bingleys care, she had already produced three individual winners and she was in foal to Rockaroundtheclock. I bought the mare off a mate of mine, Dean Woodhouse, up at Riana, who breeds a few horses, Bingley said. He and his partner Rachel Clayton. She was one which was getting a bit older and they were keen to offload her, Bingley said. She wasnt expensive, and I thought Id have a go. She lost the foal she was carrying and then I got her back in foal again to Tough Speed. Bingley was keen to retain the foal (Dusty Joe) and race her with family and friends and have him trained by Trinder. We were always hopeful with him. He was a nice type, but hes taken a bit of time to mature. Hes got a lovely temperament, and good to handle, but he just needed time, Bingley said. We are hoping he can go on from here and win a few more for us, Bingley said. He hit the line really strongly, as he did with his first-up run over 1150m which was a bit sharp for him. With the $20,000 Tasbred bonus added, the win earned connections $32,425. Dusty Joe is the first winner of the new season for long-time Armidale Stud servant, Tough Speed (USA), who had 12 individual winners last season, including the Group 3 placegetter Exasperate. Exasperate is Tough Speeds flagbearer at the moment, having won a trio of races at Caulfield this year. He returned from a spell with a first-up third at Caulfield last Saturday. He is trained by Cranbourne-based Matthew Brown, who has been a great supporter of Tassie-bred horses in recent years. Brown purchased a Needs Further yearling colt from another mare Bingley owns with his uncle and cousins, Zahlee, at last years Magic Millions Tasmanian Sale. She was a mare that he raced himself. Unfortunately, she had one by Rebel Raider that broke down, who would be a four-year-old now. We sold another one in the Magic Millions Sale, a Needs further colt, to Matthew Brown in Victoria and weve got a two-year-old Rebel Raider filly at the breakers and an Alpine Eagle colt at Armidale Stud, he said. With Snasta retired, Zahlee is the only broodmare Bingley has an interest in, but Sundays success has, not surprisingly, sparked the possibility of extending the band. Based just outside of Bridport on 120 acres, he has the room to accommodate a couple more to further fuel the passion. I always had a keen interest in racing, My dad has owned quite a few and we all grew up riding horses as kids, My uncle, who Im involved with in this other mare, used to hold a trainers licence for a while and my grandfather also trained with a fair bit of success in the 60s. Its something the family has done for quite a while, he said.

14.01.2022 The stables good form of late continued yesterday with a double at Launceston. Louise (5M Swiss Ace x Katmam) has been a model of consistency this preparation and broke through for another well-deserved win in the Benchmark 66 over 1400m. Ridden by Anthony Darmanin the mare settled at the back of the small field and was too strong over the concluding stages. ... Border Protection (4G Harbour Watch x Miss Chaqueta) is a horse that always runs well but finds it hard to win but last night had all the favours go his way to bring up win number two in the Class 1 over 1100m. The gelding had only won once previously from his 16 starts but had been placed on nine occasions. Supalopo (3g Needs Further x Molopo) was a bit slow to begin which probably cost him the race but franked his first up run with a 2nd in the Maiden over 1400m and first starter Our Shinkansen although racing a little greenly indicated she has a nice future with a 4th on debut over 1200m. Silkstone backed up from his run Saturday and was gallant again running 2nd in the BM66 over 1200m whilst Ceasars Quest resumed in the same race and indicated he was on track for a nice campaign with a fast finishing 3rd. Photos Karlee Fulton Photography #TrinderRacing
13.01.2022 How good is this horse going. Supalopo (4g Needs Further x Molopo) ridden by Anthony Darmanin scored a commanding win in the MDN/CL1 over 1600m at Launceston today. Ridden conservatively from the outside gate, Anthony allowed the gelding to build into the race from the 600m and although being the widest runner on the turn he ran over the top to win by a length.... #Dudley has now won two in succession and finished 2nd on four occasions from just six career starts. Congratulations to Paul Costello & Andrew Cowley The stables great run has continued early in December with five winners coming from our fifteen starters. Well done team. #TrinderRacing #TeamTrinder Photo: TasRacePhotos
13.01.2022 Very impressive win by Dusty Joe (4g Tough Speed x Snasta) in the maiden over 1350m at Devonport. Jockey Troy Baker was able to utilise #Joes good barrier and controlled the race from the front to score convincingly by 3.5 lengths. Congratulations to owners Phillip Bingley, Tim Bingley, Doug Bingley, Chris Barcza, Mark Nichols & Chloe Berry who have been very patient with the gelding. ... Great to see most of the team on course and they also picked up a $20,000 #Tasbred bonus making it a $30k total for Joes first win . #TrinderRacing

05.01.2022 Feature race double as stables hot streak continues. Last night at Launceston saw the running of the time honoured Alfa Bowl for 2YO's and the 3YO Trophy and the stable came away with both feature race winners. Miss Charlie Brown (2f Myboycharlie x Red Fever) ridden by Bulent Muchu could not have been more impressive on debut. The filly appreciated the solid tempo up front which allowed her to build into the race from the 600m. She went on to score by 1.5 lengths.... The filly was purchased at the 2019 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale by Trinder Racing on behalf of owners Tom Edwards and Bob Webb. Congratulations to Tom and Bob. In the 3YO Trophy, Vivilici (3f Needs Further x Why For) received a gem of a ride from Anthony Darmanin to win the $50,000 feature over 1400m and bring up consecutive wins. Congratulations to large ownership group of Our Shinkansen The very honest Dusty Joe (4g Tough Speed x Snasta) brought up a double for the stable who was also on the end of a Brendon McCoull special winning the Mdn/Cl1 over 2150m. Dusty Joe has now won two of his nine starts and been placed on four occasions. Congratulations to connections. Supalopo was beaten by a wide draw but still ran exceptionally well and he is not far away from breaking his maiden status. Brendon McCoull last six rides for Trinder Racing has resulted in six winners. The Team now heads to Hobart on Sunday with the flying Easy Road looking to make it three wins in succession, Sharma Rama and Vivilici (em) look to break their maiden in the 3YO Maiden and Dolce Casa debuts in the 3YO & Up Maiden. #TrinderRacing

03.01.2022 The stable continued its successful run on the home track in Devonport on Sunday, taking home a winning double courtesy of a couple of lightly raced gallopers. Scribbler (4m Wordsmith x Princess Royale) was the first one to greet the judge in race 1, the Ladbrokes Maiden over 1009m. She came into the race off a gutsy last start second in C1 company, but the drop in grade was offset by the obstacle of the outside barrier. With superior speed she was able to cross the field and... find the fence, before slipping away just after straightening to open up a race-winning lead. The early work she did to find the front may have taken its toll late in the race, but she held off the late challengers to win by a narrow margin. The mare with a popular stable name of Peppa Pig was a $44,000 purchase by Prime Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd at the 2018 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale and we congratulate the winning connections on their maiden win with this well bred mare. Thanks also to winning rider Anthony Darmanin who used the mare’s speed to perfection to get the prize. The second winner of the day for the stable was the lightly raced Michbar (3g Whittington x Grey Gem), who justified his short quote ($2.50 fav) to win the Tasmanian Horse Transport C1 over 1150m. Mitch had been very competitive against his own age as a 2yo and scored a very strong maiden win here at his first 3yo run, but had been off the scene since his subsequent run back in September. From the wide draw he rolled forward but when unable to slot in his rider Brendon McCoull elected to push on to get outside the leader. Given he was first up off a long break and did a bit of work early, the way he extended in the straight to open up a clear margin was very pleasing, and he held that gap to the line to win by nearly two lengths. His overall time was slightly slower than the Benchmark 60 race that followed, but compared favourably given the other race was run at a much stronger tempo. With this being his 2nd win in just 5 starts, he will hopefully make the leap into benchmark grade with success this preparation. Congratulations go to his owners Barry and Michele Diprose, and we thank Brendon for yet another winner for the stable in his customary positive style. #TrinderRacing #TeamTrinder

01.01.2022 Racing has been part of Tasmanian life for well over 150 years. Were proud of our racing history, and what racing means for our future. 5,000 Tasmanians are em...ployed directly and indirectly in racing, one of the worlds oldest pursuits. Ours is a pursuit unlike any other. It is a pursuit that harnesses and rewards the love, care and awe we have for our animals that are among the fastest species on Earth. It is equal part obsession for the racing animal, sport, business and life-blood of regional communities. We might be the only state in Australia not currently racing due to Covid-19 restrictions, but we will be back. We will be back more determined than ever to show the world that when you race for the love of it, everybody wins. Its why we race. Discover more: https://bit.ly/itswhywerace_tas
