20.01.2022 With only four days to go until our 25th Anniversary camp, I wanted to take a moment to give a big shout out to our Tristar family. As I have been holding this camp for 25 years now, I have watched young players grow up in front of me over these years and am so grateful that many of them have stayed on, joined the staff and continue to support myself & The Tristar Basketball Academy each year. There are some names & families of current staff I would like to personally ackno...wledge for their long lasting support & hard work in this 25th year. Firstly I would like to thank my sister Shirley Skinner for the massive contribution she makes to the coaching and organisation of the whole camp. Reece Skinner who has been a part of the camp since he was 5 years old! Both playing and now coaching over the last 18 years. Thank you to Shane Croxton and his family for their loyalty and support in attending and also coaching and helping me run the camps over the years. Shane has been a big part of coordinating the camp. Jalen Croxton who has also been a part of our family for the last 18 years both playing and coaching! Kyle Vucetic continues a long history of support from the Vucetic family. Kyle Vucetic attended 9 of our camps, coached at 13 and works on the admin behind the scenes! I would like to thank the Goodluck family who have attended many of our camps with Jessie returning this year from College basketball as one of our coaches and has also come along with us over to the states for our US Tristar Tours. Thank you to the staff that return this year again for their loyalty and support including Carlos Cereceda, Kat Ciabattoni, Ben Powell, Alex Hrycyk, Lorenzo Armiento and Kayla Hinrichsen. Without these people I can confidently say that the Tristar Camps would not be what they are today, we are so grateful for the ongoing support from our Tristar family and I am looking forward to celebrating 25 years with you all! 09.01.2022 Today was a sad day within our Tristar family. We lost a true legend of the game. Kobe was such an inspiration to a whole generation of up and coming ball players. Kobe was bigger then basketball his "mamba mentality" stood for hard work and determination, this has helped many people, from people suffering with cancer to in every sport not just basketball... Not only did you lose a legend of our beautiful game. We lost future stars in , Gianna Bryant, Alyssa Altobelli and Payton Chester. These girls where all invovled in the Mamba Sports Academy. Kobe was helping these girls perfect the game on and off the court. These girls were taken to soon. Please join us in sending nothing but love and prayers to the families of the 9 people who lost their lives today. 09.01.2022 Camp FAQs (Part 1) Is the camp a good fit for all levels of player? How will they be broken up? Tristar Sports Camp welcomes all ability levels. On the first day of camp, campers will be evaluated and then placed into groups according to their age and ability. Experienced and non-experienced campers alike will enjoy and thrive at Tristar Sports Camp.... What happens on the first day of camp? Following check in, our staff and coaches will direct campers to their accommodation facilities at Westminister so they can unpack. At 12 noon campers and their parents are welcome to attend our free BBQ lunch until 1:00pm. Following the BBQ, all campers will be briefed on the time schedules and rules and regulations for the camp. Then all campers will take part in a group photo.
