05.01.2022 A service to celebrate the life of Reta Svans will be held on Friday 7th August, 2.30pm at Rookwood Crematorium. Due to COVID restrictions numbers are limited for Reta’s service. After careful consideration family and close friends have been invited to the service but it will also be live steamed for anyone who is not attending. Please email [email protected] for streaming invite.... If you have not been invited we ask that you do not attend as you will not be allowed entry but please opt for the live stream. We understand Reta touched many people and you want to show your love and support and we are very sorry to have to limit numbers. 03.01.2022 These beautiful words about my Reta are from her Aunty. She is not on Facebook but has asked we share this for you. My dear, sweet Reta.....you were a humble..., sensitive soul, beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Your soft heart was vulnerable and often got wounded by the insensitive words or actions of others, yet you kept these hurts mostly to yourself because it was not in your nature to retaliate. Your responses were usually of "turn the other cheek" kind.! You had to overcome and grapple with prolonged and chronic pain for many years, yet again, you were reluctant to burden anyone else with your problems and rarely discussed your life's challenges. You were intelligent and hard working, a good daughter, sister, friend and partner to John. Your love for cats was all encompassing, and all those felines that were fortunate enough to live under your roof can truly be called "the lucky cats". My contact with you in the last few years was mostly through text messaging, and sometimes they would end up becoming "marathon" texting sessions because both of us wanted to have the last word and there was always so much more to say.! I shall miss you very much, my dear girl... you have left a big hole in all our hearts.. rest in peace. ........Baiba. See more
