We have 14ha under vine over 2 adjacent properties, all managed organically whilst employing select biodynamic practices. All grapes are sourced from our estate vineyards with wine produced and bottled on site. Our wine is all made in Terracotta Amphora imported from Italy, offering the successful applicant an opportunity to experience an... exciting new way of making wine. Our winery, restaurant and cellar door are housed in a beautiful old brick building dating back to the 1930’s, located on our 20ha property. It’s a stunning setting at the foot of Red Hill with surrounding views of the country side. Our restaurant coffee machine is available for use and we offer 50% wine discount to all staff. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic assistant vineyard manager who has a focus on producing premium quality fruit and wine. The role is largely hands on with a major focus on the vineyard but will encompass all aspects of wine production. We have a large majority of equipment on site to tackle all tasks. This job will likely offer the applicant to widen their knowledge of the wine industry, be it operating equipment over vintage; tractor/implement servicing and maintenance; employee management; bottling line operation (2,000btl/hr); grape processing along with many other aspects of our industry. The ideal candidate would have skills in both the vineyard and winery. Applicants with extensive farm machinery or horticultural knowledge will also be considered. The successful candidate will have: Tertiary education in winemaking, viticulture or horticulture at least 3 years experience in the wine industry (farming background will be taken into consideration) Victorian Forklift License Australian Drivers License Experience in operating farm machinery Chemical Handling Experience Flexibility and adaptability to allow for busy work periods A good level of physical fitness with the ability to lift 10-15kgs Key Attributes An interest in organic and biodynamic farming have worked 3 vintages/harvests Efficient time management skills Ability to work as part of a team and independently A broad spectrum of industry knowledge A practical nature and problem solving abilities The ability to delegate tasks and supervise staff Machinery maintenance and servicing skills A job description is available on request including tasks and responsibilities.
