25.01.2022 A good article on why more inner stillness, silence and ease is vital to allow our heart, mind and emotions to experience a time-out from competing with each other. Stillness will be the theme for Term 1 so if you would like to schedule more time for inner stillness or 'innercise' my yoga/meditation classes are for you.

25.01.2022 Love your yoga but would like to explore some pranayama (breathing) and meditation practices as well. Nicky from True Equanimity Yoga will be offering a seven week, one hour workshop series on Wednesday evenings at the Dalyellup Community Centre meeting room. There will be some mindful movement to get started and ready for sitting as well as some breath and concentration practices. Sound will be included in the seated (chair or cushion on the floor) meditation with the heart chakra singing bowl and the Koshi chimes with the elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. Places are limited to 10 people and the cost is $70 for the seven weeks. Bookings are essential via the website. https://equanimity.yoga/

23.01.2022 Feeling a sense of connection to earth, water, fire and air. An expansion into the space around me.

23.01.2022 Grounding is a frequently used word these days. Its meaning? Simple activities that electrically reconnect us to the earth. Sounds like twisted logic doesn't it, especially when you consider the word "reconnect" ... why would we ever disconnect in the first place?... However, in a world where wearing shoes, using various modes of travel and being indoors more seem to be the norm, our "disconnect" is not surprising. Scientists are now exploring the benefits of grounding right down to a cellular level. I love to get outside in nature, barefoot on the earth to practice my yoga. Practice this Earth Meditation if you cannot get outside or even better practice sitting grounded down onto the earth. https://druyoga.com/yoga-online/video/earth-meditation

15.01.2022 My reading for R U OK Day to learn more about the science and evidence around mental hygiene and well being through mind body practices such as yoga, mindfulness and meditation. We do physical exercise, clean our teeth and eat well but do we make mental hygiene a priority? Yoga and mediation, along with daily walks in nature, have supported my tendency towards mild anxiety immensely over the last decade or more. Even better is practicing or doing something you love with other...s or in a group to bring a sense of connection, community or in yoga a "sangha". Check out the book, podcast and film My Year of Living Mindfully If you or someone you know are in crisis seek support from Lifeline on 13 11 14 or if it is an immediate life threatening emergency contact 000.

For more information visit the link below and I will bring some foot print templates along with the World Peace Flame to each class for this last week of term. https://www.worldpeaceflame.co.uk/walk-for-peace/

08.01.2022 Yoga on the Summer Solstice is shaping up to be a light filled practice with the longest day of the year in the Southern hemisphere filling our hearts with joy and compassion. The practice also marks the conclusion of the World Peace Flame global walk. Let's create a river of light to surround planet Earth and all beings with care and love. Then the combined light of Jupiter and Saturn in alignment will shine on us a "Christmas Star" from our perspective standing on Earth. For more details of this special yoga event check out the events tab. A link below to be part of a global mediation. https://druyoga.com//fill-the-world-with-light-mon-21-dec-

05.01.2022 Is your workplace looking to promote health, wellness and employee engagement? Get in touch with me for a chat about how Dru Yoga workplace programs are highly effective for improving well being and resilience to stress in the workplace. https://equanimity.yoga/workplace-wellness/

05.01.2022 Give this a try with a rolled up blanket under the shoulders and neck for your next relaxation. It gives a bit more support than lying on the hard floor but not too high like a cushion or a pillow under the head. Maybe add another rolled up blanket as a bolster under the knees to take pressure off the lower back. It is worth investing in a couple of blankets for yoga nidra and other restorative yoga practices. I love my Stretch Now organic cotton blanket but the grey wool blankets from army surplus stores are good as a little stiffer and more versatile. https://www.stretchnow.com.au/yoga-amp;-med//yoga-blankets

05.01.2022 So pleased this book and card set arrived from Gini Eagle from Dru Australia. Watch this space for some mindful walks and yoga in the new year to connect with nature and practice grounding.

05.01.2022 The Air Element: Windmill Breath The purpose of the windmill breath is to open your chest and expand it so that you breath more openly and deeply. It also strengthens the diaphragm, stretches the neck muscles and loosens up the shoulder blades. The windmill breath can help us to prepare for pranayama techniques. It is also a great thing to do to ground and center your body and mind as well as calm your breath rate.

05.01.2022 Join me this Friday for stillness in motion with Dru Yoga in nature along with a mindful walk. Meet just before 7am at Lakes Park at the end of McMillan Drive. Mindful Walk & Yoga will run on the 8, 15, 22 and 29 January. https://equanimity.yoga/group-classes/ If you have wanted to give Dru Yoga a try before booking into a regular class this FREE offering is a perfect opportunity before Term 1 classes commence on Monday 1 February.

05.01.2022 Balance comes easily to Flamingo Spirit. With one foot in the life you are moving away from and one in the future, as you become the one who leads the life of your highest intentions, you must make peace with the fact that you are not fully in either place. Embrace the in-between. #animalwisdom #spiritanimaloracle #colettebaronreid

05.01.2022 Feeling gratitude for lovely and unexpected gifts. In this last week of term I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported my classes and come together in different locations and on Zoom to connect with a sense of community. 04.01.2022 Enjoying my Pod & Parcel coffee and journaling this morning. In class we have been working with the element of Air and the Anahata or heart chakra this week. To me courage is an open heart. The ability to act from the heart in spite of fear. A strong heart and a heart shared with others. Listen in to the Courage Unravrelled podcast and check out the Courage Journal from Joyful Living with Sana Turnock. It is truly inspiring and heart opening. #airelement #anahatachakra #strongheart #couragejournal #podfam
