23.01.2022 Those that have recently attended Regional AGMs or general meetings would be aware that the Tasmanian Volunteer Fire Fighters Award Framework (TVFFAF) have recently struck a Jubilee Medal, available to those brigades celebrating milestone anniversaries of 50 or 100 years of service. For more information about the Jubilee Medal, follow this link: https://tvffaf.org.au//TFS%20Volunteer%20Jubilee%20Medal.p

23.01.2022 The communique in relation to Brigade Fundraising has been released in the form of Wordback 302 - if you don’t receive wordback through your email ask one of your Brigade mates or Officers for a copy. As suggested in the last post, our association is happy with the outcome and pleased that common sense has prevailed. We won’t publish the wordback here as there are non TFS members on this page.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to the North West region on a hugely successful AGM and general meeting on Wednesday night. Over 30 people attended, with almost all member brigades represented! The Association wishes to congratulate the following people, who have been elected into regional executive positions for the next two years: NW President: Bruce Corbett, Wynyard NW Secretary: Michael Clarke, Latrobe NW Delegate: Robert Dawes, Somerset NW Delegate: Kyle Squibb, Devonport... The Association also sincerely thanks outgoing NW Delegate, Greg Kelly, for his tireless efforts representing the interests of the North West region. To the Southern and Northern regions, who will hold their AGMs in the coming weeks, the bar has been set high - let's encourage as many of our members as we can to get along and get involved! 10.01.2022 A few things to remember as we head into this long weekend: - if you have a campfire extinguish it properly before you leave the campsite - you cannot have a ca...mpfire in Tasmania's parks and reserves in the North, North-east, East Coast, South East, Upper Derwent Valley and King Island (see Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service) - avoid lighting any type of fire this weekend if you can. The fuels are really dry and with the temps we are expecting fires will be difficult to control - There is a Total Fire Ban in the south for Sunday 28 January. All fires must be extinguished by midnight on Saturday - familiarise yourself with the Community Protection Plans on our website and ensure you have an up to date Bushfire Survival Plan in case a fire threatens your property www.fire.tas.gov.au

10.01.2022 Our association believes this should also be the case here in Tassie, to help protect all emergency service responders.

08.01.2022 Our State President & NW President/SFC Rep. And some other important Tasmanians... Good to see them all together!

03.01.2022 It's that time of year again! The state AGM and general meeting of the TRVFA will be held in August 2018, on one of the following dates - please select your preferred option ASAP so that the necessary arrangements can be made. Typically this is not an election year for the state executive, however with the recent resignation of our Secretary, Mathew Philpott, there is a need to elect his replacement for the remainder of the term. There will also be discussion about the need f...or and role of an Assistant Secretary moving forward. Elections aside, there are a stack of pressing agenda items to discuss in the realms of governance, training, WHS... something for everyone really! So please make the effort to attend, and encourage your fellow members to come along and see what we're about. Thanks! Laura Smith - Acting Secretary, TRVFA.
