21.01.2022 Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Adelaide Region for DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in Barossa, Gawler and parts of Onkaparinga, Adelaide Hills and... Playford council areas. Issued at 5:56 pm Friday, 20 December 2019. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:55 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Gawler, Mallala and the middle of Gulf St Vincent. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Tanunda, Williamstown and the Mount Crawford Forest area by 6:25 pm and Noarlunga, Mount Pleasant and Birdwood by 6:55 pm. Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Move cars under cover or away from trees. * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. 15.01.2022 What were you doing last weekend when the wind and rain came through? Our team were out looking after the community with a number of tasks being sent to us in rapid succession. Wind and rain caused damage to a number of homes as well as bringing trees down. It takes time, training and dedication to become an SES Volunteer. Hot and windy ahead of a gusty southwesterly cooler change over western Eyre Peninsula extending eastwards, reaching Yorke Peninsula and Eastern Eyre Peninsula this evening, and the Mid North and Mount Lofty Ranges districts around midnight or in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
