25.01.2022 Residents and staff had a wonderful day last Friday celebrating Indian and Pakistani cultural day! A delicious lunch of Butter chicken, Vegetarian Vindaloo rice, naan, green beans and chips was shared. Residents and staff were encouraged to wear traditional dress or bright colours to enjoy the festivities. A fantastic way to spend a Friday lunch time.

21.01.2022 Residents and staff dressed up in their spookiest costumes to celebrate Halloween here at TTHA. The home was decorated in a sea of orange and black where many a scary hat or outfit could be seen. After lunch, residents were treated to a special screening on the big screen of ‘Frankenweenie’ while enjoying their Friday happy hour with cupcakes, hot food and of course a favourite beverage.

17.01.2022 Spring has been producing some simply stunning days, with warm breezes and sunshine. On days like these residents have enjoyed getting outdoors and savouring in the warmth and fresh air. The courtyards and balconies around TTHA have been the favourite spots to play cards, have a coffee and catch up with friends. Residents in Sarona also relaxed Saturday afternoon with a film on the big screen, 'August Rush,' physical distancing was maintained during all activities.

16.01.2022 The weekend saw quite a bit of rain which means its best to stay warm and indoors. Residents enjoyed playing card games whilst drinking coffee and socialising. Others loved relaxing in the reading room, flicking through magazines and appreciating the beautiful mountain views. After lunch residents retired to the lounge for a screening of the Australian film Charlie & Boots on the big screen in Sarona Upper, with physical distancing adhered to.

16.01.2022 The penguin parade has recently begun live streaming the nightly return of penguins to their shores. This is live streamed each evening at dusk and can be viewed live online. Our wonderful lifestyle team recorded this and replayed it for our residents last Thursday after lunch. Residents were in awe of these beautiful creatures as they watched them return to their burrows from their day of fishing. We encourage you to log in one evening, its a wonderful sight to see.

15.01.2022 On Friday the 22nd of January residents and staff celebrated Australia day. The home was decorated in the colours of the Australian flag with accents of green and gold. Staff dressed in their Aussie best and residents donned temporary tattoos for the occasion. Everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch cooked on our beautiful sunny balcony with a dessert of pavlova while listening to iconic Australian songs. In the afternoon, residents were treated to happy hour complete with meat pies, sausage rolls and cold beer.

Residents assisted lifestyle to create the packs, sorting and bagging them up. Our fathers were overjoyed to receive them and were thrilled with the quality and variety of the packs. 14.01.2022 Activity packs are distributed to residents every Friday and are proving to be a real hit. Activity packs are offered in both English and German and include a variety of activities to exercise their brains. Activities such as crosswords, word searches, quizzes, riddles, colouring pages, sudoku and reminiscing prompts a great way to spend an afternoon.
14.01.2022 Our wonderful fathers were celebrated in style over the weekend. Festivities began on Friday with a special Fathers day happy hour. Residents were treated to a beer or wine with some delicious hot food from our kitchen. The halls of TTHA were decorated in blue and white and residents relaxed the afternoon away. Sunday morning our special fathers received a wonderful gift of toiletries with their breakfast trays, residents were overjoyed. Our specials fathers of the ILU community received their gifts from staff on Friday also and what a wonderful surprise it was. We hope your fathers day was just as special!

14.01.2022 Thank you to all residents and staff who participated in the TTHA asymptomatic COVID19 testing completed by Aspen Health on 14th and 15th September. This testing is currently undertaken at facilities with NO known active cases of COVID19. There was a total of 104 staff and 65 residents tested over the 2 days and all results have returned with COVID19 NOT DETECTED. Thank you to all the staff who took the time to attend and thank you to all the staff who assisted with the resident movements. Thank you all for your hard work, vigilance in conducting the screening and communicating any respiratory symptoms promptly in order for us to be able to ensure we remain COVID FREE.

04.01.2022 With spring one day away, residents were delighted to participate in some one on one gardening. The roving gardening trolley was taken to residents rooms by our lifestyle team, where residents got their hands dirty planting and re-potting some stunning blooms. Another creative way of enjoying some relaxing activity time.
04.01.2022 Its a joy, in such challenging times to be part of a wonderful wider community of people. A huge thank you to Debbie Newlands, her mum and Jan Matthews for their generous donations of hand crafted knitted and crochet items for our residents. The talent of these ladies is truly amazing and the smiles that these gifts were met with was heart-warming. Thank you, ladies, for bringing a smile to our residents faces.
04.01.2022 Our residents love gardening and when the weather is a little wild outside as winter has set in, indoor gardening is the perfect alternative! Residents and staff have worked together to create indoor gardening tables to be utilised in the colder months and by residents with limited mobility. We were also lucky that some of our extremely talented residents in Otto Lower were able to use their handyman skills to assist with assembly of the tables. Residents facility wide are enjoying planting a variety of edible plants including strawberries, mint and pansies.
03.01.2022 Current challenging times and tight restrictions make celebrations and birthdays more difficult to acknowledge. However, they also make us all more creative and determined to make the day special for a loved one. Look at this much loved TTHA family marking a special birthday for one of our residents. 03.01.2022 Melbourne Cup is always celebrated in style here at TTHA and this year was no different. Residents and staff participated in various Melbourne Cup sweeps and if these photos are anything to go by, winners are grinners. Residents and staff were encouraged to wear a special hat or fascinator to join in the festivities, while everyone relished in a delectable high tea of delicate cakes and sandwiches paired with beer, wine, lemonade and a special treat of Mimosas.
